Hopefully, like the officer, the dash-cam survives(if there was one) and we can see what happened as they like to release those when there's no death involved...

Yes there is. It's called a Code 2 Response. It is a urgent response but not an emergency.

Code 3 Response is Lights and Siren. Responding to an emergency, such as an major accident, etc.

Armed robberies are handles differently. The Officers will roll Code 3 to a certain point, then discontinue Code 3 (Lights and Sirens) within a certain distance of the scene. A slew of Police Cars screaming toward you with lights and sirens blaring may cause an armed robber to act with deadly force.

Again, some are missing the point. You are responsible for yielding the right-of-way to traffic on the road. It does not matter if the Officer was doing 30 mph or 110 mph, you HAVE to make sure the road is clear with enough room for you to pull out and merge with the traffic.

Well if the company fired him for HOS violation it would have been the same as admitting
responsibility. In LAW sense he was in violation of HOS rules he should not have even been there at that time. Even though the other driver was blittzed on alcohol the tanker was at fault for the HOS violation. He and his company will not win the legal fight. To many other case law decisions regarding this very issue. HOS rules will prove them guilty. Sorry to say.. We all have violated the HOS rules in one way or an other.
