    I sincerly apologize for my remark. I'm glad to hear that you quit smoking the stuff. Judgemental? Yes, but what do you expect us to think when you post the same question 5 times without explaining your current situation?

    Quit whining. Quit the dope. Quit looking back. Nothing you can do to change it. Now if you want to go to school show up clean. Do what ever they ask no matter how much it pizzes you off or how lame it sounds. Get your ticket and some experience. You may hate trucking. If so then head in another direction with the same forward attitude. Only YOU can make you a success in life. Good luck.

    Starting off by asking the same question in five different threads, and it being a question about drug testing is a tip off. The vast majority of drivers take safety very seriously, and the drug testing is part of that safety.

    You will have to have NOT smoked weed for at least 2 months, since that is the drug that stays in your system the longest. You will also have to never touch the stuff again, since every time you go to a new company you will have to drug test. You will have to drug test randomly while you are working. If you are in an accident, one of the first things that will be done by your company is a drug test.

    You want to give the stuff up and get into trucking, go for it. Just realize that you are never going to be smoking the stuff again. Failing a drug test will trash your chances of driving for a very long time.

    If you are offended by these comments, I'm thinking your'e too thin skinned to make it in trucking.
    If you're concerned about the hair test, shave your head now!
    Seriously. It's stylish and what grows back will be testable.
    Consider a different company to start with that doesn't do hair testing. There are plenty of them.

    No matter what the testing policy, I'd still consider another company.

    Some companies do follicle testing too. If you are serious about trucking you are definitely going to have to give up the ganja. Like Lilbit said if you get in an accident and are drug tested you could be held accountable for attempted manslaughter. That's what they do to folks in Commercial vehicles. So it's way not worth it.

    Did you quit smoking week only to find a job? If so, that's the wrong reason.

    If more than one of us are a bit testy about this sort of thing, it's because we don't need any more black eyes on an industry that already has more than enough and is adding to the tally daily for various reasons.

    Stay clean, and good luck.

    After Shock;

    Question. Heard one person say that they will get a piece of paper and a job. Job being more important and paper not so important. CR England IN has the school that has positive reviews for training actually. Other companies honor their piece of paper for new students as a viable school (Roehl, Werner, Schneider etc). Their school if you pay upfront is under $1000.00. If they let me go solo company in Illinois as they just got the Walmart Sterling account and Smith I might stay around if I successfully pass the course.My thinking, most schools are over 4K. I get the piece of paper and then go to Werner, Schneider, Roehl etc. Already talked to the aforementioned. I have other employment/career but for some reason am thinking this way and keep questioning it but my gut says to try (and over the years it is usually on target). Your input is greatly appreciated, as well as, anyone else. I am an Illinois resident (which does not honor other CDLs from another state) so other schools do not want that burden except Prime and CR England. Thank you very much and Have a Great Day.:biggrin_25511:

    Yes Sir?

    I'm all eyes, Captain.
    Yeah, a "crummy" piece of paper, --- in their opinion.
    Can't obtain one without the other, so I'd conclude that they're of equal importance. For those who actually desire to be Big truck truck drivers, it's a slap in the face when they're rejected and someone lookin' for just a job is hired instead.
    Perhaps the other companies consider that bein' battle tested?
    Why would a money hungry company charge less than the other companies? How many students are accepted, then booted before they complete training, ...... but still owe for training they didn't receive? No crummy paper and no crummy job either, --- all for only a thousand bucks. Unless CRE decides to ding your dack as a parting gift that will assure that the better companies will file your application in the circular file immediately upon receiving it. It's a gamble, --- hold 'em, fold 'em, or just walk away.
    Yup! "IF" (you pass the course), of course.
    There are those who have had the same idea and successfully pulled it off. However, there are many more with that idea in mind who failed, --- sometimes with no reason given.
    I've come to rely on my gut instincts too, --- they're correct more often than not. If you're bound and determined to put your gut to the test with C.R.E., I reckon the only way you'll find out is to take the plunge. If you do, I hope that you'll keep us informed of whatever happens.
    Thanx!
    I appreciate you mentioning that.
    An Illinois resident?
    Don't fret.
    We won't hold that against you. :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25525:
    You're very welcome, Captain.
    Today is a holiday to remember those who gave their all for this Country, and I thank all who served or are serving in our armed forces.
    Thank you Captain. :salute::salute::salute:
    Job well done. :yes2557:

    Uhhhhhh, ............. where was the "question"? :smt102:smt017 :biggrin_25525:
