I, and several other drivers, have been sitting at Nestle Water in Sacramento CA since 8 this morning.

I thought I was one of the lucky ones, as I had been assigned a door right away.

But here it is 6 hours later, and I am still not loaded. I feel a pallet go in every 20 minutes or so.

At this rate, my 14 will be up before I can get driving.
I think they are filling the water bottles as we wait.
    By hand.

Nearest TS is about 16 miles, the 49er Pilot in Sacramento.
I'd hate to pay yet another $12.00, though. Ended up doing that last night, and right now I'm flat busted broke.

I guess it takes a lot of time to find water, I haven't heard a pallet go in for about 30 minutes now.

    Almost 7.5 hours now.:biggrin_25518:

Pretty soon I'll have racked up 10 OD hours.

Well, I finally got out of there shortly after my last post.

I went to the desk to inquire. The guy says... Oh, you're all loaded, here's the BOL.

So, says I, why do I still have a red light?

Well, he says, they can't unhook the dock. You need to back up a couple inches. (I pushed up against the pads before I set my brakes, but I guess I didn't push hard enough)

So I go out and push it back a couple more inches, and wait another ten minutes while listenening to clunking sounds. A few more minutes of silence, and still the red light.
So I go back inside. As soon as I walk in he says I'm good to go.
Go back out and finally the green.

I came as far as Redding, since I need to fuel here at the TA and there isn't anything else in range of my 14. After fueling I'd only have half an hour or so left.

Now I have to try to do 510 miles tomorrow on US97 by 7pm so I can deliver on time the next morning.

Hmmm... 510 miles on that highway with 44.5k in the box and a 4 year old Volvo.

    Mac 22, I'm thinkin'. :biggrin_25514:

Even in my former truck at the bluebird, with a castrated cat , i could still do 510 miles with that much weight in the box.

You wouldn't much like produce then. Sometimes you sit waiting for the product to "cool" for 10-12 hours.

Well, I did make it on time tonight, so at least I won't be late in the morning. I got here at 1845, so 15 minutes to spare.

Sure is a nice drive up U.S. 97.
