I thought you were talking about the guys going threw truck driving school that haven't graduated yet.
gravelhauler Thanks this. -
Sounds like a high school co-op program, like Future Farmers...
Heirforce1, Texas-Nana and Svoray Thank this. -
For 6k it would be better to go to a trade school and come out with a skill as opposed to trucking. Man that place is getting over on drivers (and having to do a yr in the box??) wow! Hopefully the word spreads and potential students stay away from that place. Hope you have better luck down the line and drive safe!!

Never heard of them before. Is this a trucking company or a cdl school ?

Check out Davidson County Community College first or Johnston. I went 2 months to Davidson in 07 for about $500 plus drug testing and medical card.
I live close to Asheboro and just drove to Davidson. -
OK folks, I think we got us a winner here. ONE post. Talking about a driving school. Saying you are tied to a one year contract????????
Now there is another thread on this school:http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/trucking-schools/102285-future-truckers-america-training-school-asheboro-3.html which right now, I have not read.
But unless the OP is willing to come back and elaborate a bit, it sure sounds like either a troll or a crackpot. Or both. . .Wargames Thanks this. -
It's a cdl school here in NC. They run ads in the local newspaper all the time for central ref. I live about 15 min from them. I can't really speak on the school as a whole but 10 years ago i used them for just my road test and it was very easy, just a very quick pretrip and around the block for the driving part then sign the check for payment. I've observed their trucks on the road and have not been impressed with the actions of their trainers.

$6000 to learn to drive a truck? You give me $5000, I will teach you and you dont have to sign any contract.
-
I'll teach you for $3000 AND leave you stranded at a truck stop during the celebratory lunch after you pass your road test.
not4hire, lostNfound, Meltom and 1 other person Thank this.
