Hi all,
I start CDL school on Monday. Our family business was recently sold, before that I was in the Air Force 21 years. I've been taking in all the incredible information on this forum (the good, bad and ugly). I have a clean driving record, but I'm not the most mechanically inclined person...I need the manual to put on chains or change a tire. Anyway, looking forward to the next month and getting with a national carrier for OTR experience. Thank you all for your great advice, hope to meet some of you soon.

Welcome and good luck on your endeavors. chaining was scary for me at first, but its not really all that hard. If you get on with a national carrier, I doubt you'll ever have to change a tire, you probuably just call road service, or company and they'll send someone out.

We are definitely here to help you with this process. It will be tedious in the beginning however from my experience this is an excellent support group, laugh factory, scream depot, rant zone I've ever come across. Main thing is to listen to what the trainers and senior people in this industry have for you. This isn't a get rich quick industry however truckers are some of the most helpful, dedicated people you will meet. Again we're glad to have you and welcome to our forum. Any questions ask and when you get the post up feel free to PM anyone with concerns.
