I had a car in 1993 cross the centerline in broad daylight and run head on into me killing the driver and rolling my semi over. End Quote:
As you said, he ran into you, but what do you think caused your truck too roll? Did he take out a steer tire?

Just had a close one 2 nights ago, comeing down a hill with a mild sweeping left hand turn I let the truck roll out to 70MPH (limit is 65) half way in the turn there's 5 or 6 deer in front of me! I knew better than to swerve and slam on the brakes but I was so startled to see them there I did it anyway! I cut hard to the right and slammed on the brakes I remember a thump and looked in the left mirror and saw the trl sideways takeing out a deer in the center of the trl! I have no idea how or why it did'nt go over. I pulled over and checked for damage and found hair and blood on the left steer lugnuts but only on the wheel?? The side of the trl was a mess.
I think some one was looking out for me. -
The trailer slid into the ditch and over-centered pulling the tractor over on it's side. I was on the shoulder at the start of the impact and all the brakes were locked,(driveshaft got broke on impact and tore all the airlines out), plus I had the brake pedal slammed to the floor. The car did impact the LF steer tire, then sheared of the battery box, crushed the fuel tank, hit the front drive axle and front of trailer before the car was thrown back East 50 ft. (IT was going West.)My front tire went through the driver's compartment decapitating the driver. It also knocked the transmission out of the car and tore off the driver's door. I was driving a R series Mack pulling a 45ft reefer trailer, weighed approx. 60,000 lbs., the car that hit me was a Chevy Cavalier.............
To give you how much time I had to react to the crash, there were 40 ft of my skidmarks to point of impact, both vehicles were doing 55mph, and it was 1:15 in the afternoon.rachi Thanks this. -

I have close calls every day because to many drivers are to busy texting or eating or reading or a number of other insane things they do while driving now a days. Could get in a wreck every single day if i wanted to. Its crazy up here in the north east.
Ruthless Thanks this. -
Tell me about it. I spent a week up there in the last 2 days.
