i find this to be STOOPIT of them. you mean to tell us, no idiot in that place could have gone outside to tell you that you were done, and they couldn't unhook..??? what a bunch of class A-holes......

well lesson learned for the next time, FOR ANY dock you go to...back up enough so this will never happen again.....

but to not go out and get you, that right there is BULL SHEET.....or at the very least, they should have a cb radio system where all drivers go to a particular channel and wait to be called inside.....

Mine was in lumberton Nc, QUICKIE INC if anyone has heard of them. I have ELOGS as well so i went to the shipper early at 0730. apt was 1100, she said since i was 1st one they would start on me early.
it was a floor load of brooms, that part went quick just like their name said. Then Nothing for several hrs. As my ELOGS are ticking away, I got out of their 10 hrs later.
Thank goodness i put my ELOGS OFF DUTY and got my 11 back right when i got loaded.
    Another shipper i avoid :-(

I had a similar situation at a cold storage in Alabama when I drove for Stevens. I had the green though. Went in, got my bills, paid the UEF (unloading extortion fee), left and proceeded to pull out but nothing, I set and released the brakes but I still couldn't move. I got out and looked at the bumper and sure enough the dock claw had me. I went in to tell the receiving clerk who sent out a worker with a sledgehammer to bang on the hook until it released. Fun times!
