What's your price range?
-
i dont know me and his girlfriend are chippin in together whats a decent price?
-
The Loves and TA Truck Stops have the Cobra 29 LX priced at $129.95 Does that fit your budget? I am looking to buy one of those.
-
He said HIGH QUALITY radio's !!!!
-
Look into the Magnum S-9, the Galaxy 95T. Both high quality and in the $300 to $500. They are many but these are the 2 I follow, and are my DREAM radio's. Now Im running and old Galaxy Pluto set up as an 88. The older radio's are the ticket by the way. Good Luck hunting...........

The cobra 29 are good starter radio's specially with the RFX75, But not consider High End, but wouldn't turn one done for a good price.
-
Since I do not know your price range, Pilot has a Uniden PC 68 XL on sale for $60. This is not generally known as a high quality radio but it is the best value for the money available this month. And yes, radios do come up on sale from time to time.
.
What are commonly referred to as high quality cb radios on the internet, are radios that command high dollar prices. We really do need to find out your price range to give you a more accurate answer. -
Ditto. The first thing to know is what kind of radio your dad had.
The Uniden PC68 that is for $60 as mentioned, is a high quality radio (regardless of what anyone says) but it's not a high dollar radio. And the reason it's not a high dollar radio is because anymore truckers want a radio that will do more than 4 watts, and some of them want roger beep, echo, and a host of other things that a stock Uniden 68 doesn't give you.
High dollar does not always mean high quality and vice versa.
However the Uniden 68 and it's twin brother, the Cobra 25 are both excellent starter radios as mentioned.
The next step up would be a Cobra 29 or a Uniden 78.
I don't have any experience with the new Cobra 29 LX but I saw one in person and it appears to have some new features the Cobra 29 classic built since the 1970's doesn't have....like channel scan, 10 NOAA weather channels with switchable alert, dual channel watch, the ability to change the LCD, built in clock with built in alarm, frequency counter and a few other things I can't remember.
Then you start getting into your 10 meter export radios which run anywhere from $200 on up to $500 + depending on which one you get. -
not sure where you live--but find out if there is a cb shop nearby---if your dad had a radio collection--i am sure now that a cobra and such just wouldnt cut it---so maybe stay away from truck stops
i dont know really what kind to reccomend--but ---do a google on older collectable radios and see what comes up
