Ok that sounds good.
One question, how would I mount this with use with my PU? Can you use this with some sort of mag mount, or does anyone have an easy idea of what mount to get to use with this??
Thank you for any an all comments.

I've had real good luck with Wilson mag mounts on pickup's they tune up good and work well..
At the moment I'm running a 102" whip mounted to the tool box in the front of the bed, another great antenna.. -
102 seems like a lot of Antenna!!!
I have a hard metal tonno cover on my box, or I can mag mount to the roof too. I was thinking something in the 48" range? -
Shows what you know about truckin radio rig ups

We run them on ANY TRUCK,they work just fine
They are cheap, tough as nails and even behind the cab yanking a garbage wagon they excel over Wilson 2K and the like.
Looks like your double parked on your yapper goober
Pay no mind to the literal thousands of cow racks, tankers and skateboards running such a fictitious arrangements

I spent along time running the better part of the US and I can't remember seeing even one guy running a 102 on a truck.
Mounting it behind the cab would mean that more then 3/4 of it would be surrounded by metal. Usually not a good thing. 102s flex alot, used to run them back in the old days on the side of a pickup. They would be slapping against the front of the trailer while going down the road unless you had it strapped, using some type of insulated strap. Oh and we had to run a spring on our 102s to get them tuned properly which meade them flex even more.
Even a 102 has to be mounted so that the majority is above the roof line or unobstructed by metal. this would mean mounting a 102 more then 3/4 the way up the back of the cab etc. This would put a 102 well above 16 ft in height meaning that it would be slapping about every over pass you come to.
I have heard of some guys having a motorized setup with a 102. They have it setup on a switch to run the antenna up when stationary ie parked for the night.
As far as the 102s superiority over other popular antennas, well it is better and I am not argueing that point. It is just that it is not at all practical on a semi. We are talking about an antenna that is 8 1/2 feet tall without a spring under it. For it to work properly, more then 6 feet of it has to be above and away from any metal on the truck. Ours worked best mounted on the rear corner of a pickup bed far away from the cab.
I had an old wilson 2000 ,with a 10 inch lower shaft, laying around and I was looking to replace my lil will magnetic setup. I stopped at a truck stop and picked up one of them cheap magnetic bases. I slapped the 2000 in the base, stuck it on the center of the roof on my 98 dodge 1500 4x4 quad cab. I adjusted the SWR using the interna SWR meter on my cobra 29 and it works great. I have easily seen 7 miles or range out if it which is pretty good for a stock out of the box CB radio.
The magnet hold pretty good at better then highway speeds in 40mph head winds. -
What did he say? He just like to ratchet jaw. He knows nothing about radios. Nothing he says makes any sense. Just like he comments about the RFX-75. One post they're the greatest. The next one they're just junk. It just shows that he hasn't a clue about anything. The 102" needs a groundplane and all rigs will not provide one. I guess he'll be running a 102" on a fiberglass rig roof next.

I picked up a new wilson 2000 ,with a 10 inch lower shaft from the local TA for $39.00 today. The mount for it will be here either Friday or Monday. With my luck it will be Monday!!!
