It might be easier to get the answer in the owner operator forum or ask these members canuck in da truck, REDD, outerspacehillbilly. My thinking and dont quote me on it is blocking brace (dunnage) and chain it one individually however I've never actually hauled it. Hopefully one of the more senior members can help though....

Train axles are loaded "suicide" on 2 X 4 "tracks" running parallel with the deck.....

"Belly-wrap" the axles with chains....real simple.....

The company I work for has around 6 or so truly obese flatbed drivers. As in, 300+lbs, and mostly fat. I have no clue how they get into the bunk.

Then I suggest that you either give me a hand to get me on my way, or get yourself a Nintendo DS or iPad to spend on hour or so while I tarp it well to make sure the product doesn't get wet.

I had a fork lift operator tell me that anything longer than a 1/2 hour to strap/tarp a load is too long......Of course....It took him two hours to load me.....:biggrin_25523:

I had that kind of mentality from shippers too. I just tell them to come show me how it's done, so that I can learn from them. For some reason, none of them want to show me how it's done that fast.

I sweat just because my body sweats. A lot!!!! Believe me I am in shape. I can still do my 3 mile run in under 30 minutes. I use to sweat like I do now even when that time was at 20 minutes and I was still in the military.

To me the best is when a shipper asks why your putting so many straps or chains on something or why you need to have a bulkhead built in front of loads. I just ask them what the DOT regs are and who is driving the truck. They cant seem to answer the first question so I usually tell them to just stick to loading the truck not telling me how to secure it.
