I'm having a pretty hard time reading your post but from my understanding is that you have a driver who is neglecting your calls and forcing for a later appointment? Just tell him to return to the yard, or if you know exactly where the truck is (idk if you do or not), just get it towed to a local holding yard and schedule another driver or yourself to pick it up. Most likely a more experienced O/O will chime in with more advice.

Call OOIDA. If you're not an OOIDA member, call and explain it to the Federal DOT. Then, call the state you're baseplated in for advice and a second opinion. Those numbers are usually in the front section of any Trucking Atlas. Hopefully he's not camped out drinking beer and goofing off. Oh- maybe he got arrested goofing off and had to spend the day in jail? Let's hope not, Good Luck my friend.

Have you found you truck yet if not, If you know what state he is in notify the state police and inform them that you have a missing driver and a missing truck loaded with freight. Dont tell them you talked to him 3 hours ago tell them you havent been able to contact him in the last 24 hours and his load was due to deliver 12 hours ago give his last known location. They can put out a BOLO and check on the driver. With out getting you resources involved it could be more costly. You have to assume the worst and hope for the best. The driver may be in trouble and cant get to his phone

i talk to him today and he said he will o bend my truck and leave the load on it he laid about his location dont know what to do? he said he was in Greentown PA and now he is telling me he was on the way home with the load on and he is in Youngstown OH idk where he was previously at before Greenstown, PA he sd 3 palest are damaged on the truck and its grapes. What should i do?

i would but we are out of IA and he is in PA now -
Obviously this driver does not value his job or care about your well being or his equipment. I would call your local police dept there in IA and report the truck stolen. Tell them it's last whereabouts and who was driving it. That way, they can contact the OH State Police and so on as to recover your truck and take the driver into custody. I know you may not think so, but he is operating YOUR truck w/o your permission. just like if I let someone borrow my car for a day and they decided to drive 800 miles away and not return it.... it's stolen.

well the load being grapes, i'd be wondering what you're gonna do with that spoiled load now.
i "see" that you have been in business 7 years.. and you have no idea as what to do..??
i find THIS HARD to believe..i mean it ain't like in Iowa you ain't got a phone or a state police dept you can't call, or that you didn't even think to call the state police in each state and report a "missing truck"...
i am finding your years in the business to be at question that you just do not know what to do.....
tell you what i would do, is his personal vehicle parked on your property..?? if so get it towed away and impounded. or at the very least, jack it up and strip off the wheels...Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
As far as the grapes go, if he didn't deliver them and doesn't have them when you catch up to him.... wouldn't that constitute theft? I don't know, but look into it. If so, then having crossed state lines, and the fact that it is an interstate shipment, I believe the Feds would get involved. I haven't hauled grapes for a long time, but I bet 3 palletts worth is grand theft, if he is charged. He has stepped on his own dick. Too bad it will also cost you money and stress. Good luck.

Got a toll card or prepass you can search on? Might narrow it down or help guess his new route. If he's dumb enough to take it this far he probably forgot about those cards if they're in there.
SHC Thanks this.
