1)When I delivered for the blue screw to Sears. They would let you sleep on the mall property.
    2) If you not allowed to sleep on a property and you are out of hours, you are allowed to drive to the first available safe haven.

    Seriously???

Moving from the dock to the parking area....not like you're going to be driving ten or fifteen miles to the truck stop. No cop in his right mind is going to give you grief over moving less than a mile. E-logs aren't supposed to kick you to driving until .7 miles in most cases. That means it is legal to move from one parking spot to another on the same facility. I wouldn't sweat it. Jut go park and go to bed.

Well, during my THIRD DOT inspection of the day I asked the nice officer about this. His reply was: "Someone is nitpicking" He then said since regulations say you're allowed to travel to the first safe location he felt no one would give you a citation for moving from a dock to the parking lot. He said this will a great deal of laughter. He then proceeded to turn and ask several other officers and they all laughed as well. One officer did say he would cite you for it if you kicked his dog. Then they gave me a bottle of water and a snack size package of oreos. I may start looking for the DOT inspection sites if they're going to give me cookies.
