I wish you luck. I worked for Werner and couldn't make any money with them. I started out as a team, and then went to solo. and even tried training. They just wern't giving out the miles you need to pay bills, and live out on the road. We only got home every 5 weeks, and only got 5 days off. Well you really only get 3 days at home. The day you get home, and the day your due back on the board, are included into your days off.

I worked for them on the Dollar Genral 5 years ago and due to a tsunami wrecking my sweet toyota dedicated account. I'm headed back into the mix on monday. Werner was good but you really need to be on a specialized account or you just end up parked somewhere in a nice truck.

Well you can read my experience with werner under bad trucking companies. I hope everything goes well for you. I think that the Dallas terminal support staff come close to the worst in the industry from what my experience has been. Its good that your new because when I was new and working for werner I didnt realize how bad they were screwing me.

I see all of the bad posts on this forum about this company, but it really doesn't matter. Everyone has different education levels, personalities, let alone backgrounds. A job is a job especially going on with no experience. I'm going with Werner because they will train me and they have a terminal closeby in ATL. The training pay will suck, but it is better than my current pay of $0/HR lol!

:biggrin_25513: There are 475,000 trucking companies in the U.S. WHY go with the WORST ONE????????

I garentee you'll gross not a penny more then $25,000 first year with werner...and thats if you stay out ALLOT.

Anything less then $35,000 first year is a waste of time, you can make a little over $50,000 first year if you pick the right company and run hard....I did $46,000 my first year. Just saying, there is a reason why there are 100,000's of bad posts about them, and why there are 1000's of pages of complaints on RipOff report . com about them as well....

Werner has the closest terminal to my home city and they will let me drive my truck home. I need training. All training companies pay you crap the first year. My main concern is the one year OTR experience. After that I'm gone.

#1 who cares where the terminal is? your going to spen 90% of the next year in your truck on the road

#2 Takeing the truck home means 2 things, Wasteing Hours and you are now liable for ANYTHING that happens to that truck while its in your driveway

#3 Thats not true at all

#4 Key word there EXPERIANCE (you will not learn sheet from your "trainer" with 6 months OTR exp.

If you need training call Millis Transfer, you'll be in a VERY nice KW, run ALLOT of miles, get home when you want/need, and you'll make ALLOT more money then werner. You Should Clear $35,000 Easy. And their trainers are allot more experianced then werner "trainers"

I know at this point all you care about is a job and geting that first year in, but I garentee once your locked in a closet for months at a time, your going to look at that $300 Paycheck from werner and want to punch someone in the face....
