I'm not sure... big sharks got many ways to hide profits offshore, may be with imported components

So where is Chevy, Dodge ect getting the money to build the foreign plants? Oh that's right.......from the profits you say "stays in America"! Last time I checked the money I gave Honda went to build the latest plant in INDIANA where AMERICAN workers are. Sorry to let the facts get in the way of your opinion.

Why not if many busses, firetrucks and motorhomes use them in NA?

    That's almost true.
Except that its not in the past tense.
The bail out may have been about 2 years ago but was done with money borrowed from China.
The payback that is from you guys will still be a long time coming.
Unless of course the dollar keeps devaluing , then it may be chump change in a few years.

Sore subject. I'm all for supporting local companies but let's not be stupid about it. If your Canadian it's in your best interest to buy from a Canadian company. But to me there's more to it than just where the main office is.
    Pretty interesting article.

We buy Kenworth not because they're made 90 miles from me but because of past experience with quality, resale value, ease of maintenance and reliability. Could I buy another brand and have similar results? Maybe, but I'm more than willing to gamble with your money, not with mine. If KW was to close their Ohio plant and move it to Mexico would not be enough to make me buy another brand. I vote with my checkbook and if I have better luck with a product made in a small village in Cambodia vs one made in the USA then I'll buy the one from Cambodia. To get my business the other company will have to improve they're product. I'm not saying foreign products are better, sometimes they're complete crap but I look at how it's made not where it's made.

what is American car ore American truck? Sometomes it is more differense on what market is truck made? I saw Russian built US trucks, like International and KW!

There are many European things there, like european handbrake (stick - not knobs), European headlamps, short wheel base, 4x2 trucktors are available too, 24V trailer ABS/EBS supply, Euro calibrated engines (for Russian market the offer Euro-III, for trucking in EU - Euro-IV and Euro-V and 90 kmh speed limiters)...
