Warning...DO NOT lease with PRIME

No doubt owning your own metal has advantages... like no truck payment, and disadvantages. OTOH, my lease payment is a deduction on my taxes, and the truck is under warranty for the life of the lease. Lost my turbo late last year - outside of lost revenue (less breakdown pay,) it cost me a total of $133.

...there are advantages to leasing (at the right carrier) too.

Part of the problem is that a lot of guys THINK they are doing well because they don't know what well is. They think that if they have $ 1000 a week after expenses and before taxes they are doing well.

 

Its all relative to what you think "well" is. Your "well" might just be quite a bit more shallow and run into bedrock without hitting water - while my "well" might be a gusher!

Hmmm.... that's about $800 maybe - after taxes. That "well" don't hunt!

 

Exactly! $800 after taxes isn't well. You can do better than that driving someone else's truck.

BTW, leard to read and comprehend. "Please" indicates an asking, not "telling" a mod to do anything.

 

If I ever start doing that "well" - I have a standing offer to go back to the company side. My fleet manager on the company board I was on would love to have me back.
