got a 6ts 475, reset to 550 (so I'm told) was running rough, pulled the rocker covers off and found all missmatched injecrors, there were 4 10r-0957's in it, and a few oddball numbers also. I understand this should have 58's in it, Has anyone ever run into something like this? Went in for an overhaul a while back, never been right since, believe this is why.
Not concened about power, but if i get the codes (4 digit) all set back to the ones on the injectors should it help smooth it out? runns rough at the bottom when first throttling up, and has a real noticeable flutteraround 15-1600rpm. Or is it just going to run poorly cause the injectors are too small? (maybe lean)
    thanks

I had a similar problem once and it ended up being injector and cup o-rings. But seems to be trying to come back

The miss matched part numbers doesn't necessarily mean you have a miss matched set of injectors. CAT has changed the part numbers a number of times since this engine was built. The 0R-9257, 10R-0957 10R-8501 is what's supposed to be in a 6TS 435-475 hp engine, I can't remember the older numbers that it could be, but there is at least two more or more yet. The 6TS 550 hp rating requires a set of 0R-9258 10R-0958 or 10R-8502 and a different camshaft, pistons and turbocharger.

If you have a 550 program in the ECM with these injectors, you aren't getting the full hp rating of the file. It's probably around 450-475 Hp at the flywheel.

Setting the injector trim codes will help the rough running, but you'll lose more power.

You maybe able to use a flash file from a 550 1LW engine to bring the power back up, these engine built 550 hp with the 57 injectors.

Gonna bring the ECM to my cat guy and see what its set at. If its 550 i have full set of OR-4893's out of my parts truck i'll try. if its 475 i'm gonna set the codes correct to try and smooth it out. hard to explain how it runs. almost feels lean if that sounds right
    thanks for the help
