Geez, what a load of crap. Been up here 4 years since the beginning. Yes, if it starts lightning, stop loading genius. Very little violence, locals hate us but just farmers who don't have mineral rights but they aren't coming after you in their pickups unless maybe you almost ran them off the road.
Another thing, if you are making 70k up here you are green as hell and not working very hard. More like 100k for any real driver. I HAVE HAULED THE BADLANDS FOR YEARS. You aren't there alone, tons of other drivers in the field, most of them great about helping out. Should be talking about the 30 or 40 below if you want to make yourself look like you survived it all. That IS NOT WINDCHILL, that's real temp, windchill more like 70 80 below.
Sounds like another planet but holy crap, little chilly and better hope you don't have to drop your drawers in the field. You may lose something. Bottom line, yes there are extremes but you don't have to make them up.
You don't risk your life everyday! That's ridiculous, just like every other trucking job, you get into jams beyond your control every once in a while.

 

WHere can I get details about the jobs there?

 

Been around the patch for over 40 years in Canada plus moved 87 rigs to the USA in the early 80's and you are dead one. The patch isn't for everyone.
