I always run the posted speed limit, and if other trucks want to go around me, that's fine with me... I've been driving for 25 years and have never gotten a ticket yet... I've been drivng a truck for 2 years and I treat my CDL like gold...

it was 4 wheelers and passenger bus crashes that shut the bridge down
to 55 mph back in 02/03,not the ONE TRUCK crash that smashed a few people like the media has folks believing.
Fact is ,some of us will step at our own pace whether the new breed deems it acceptable or not.
Bottom line is THEY CANT so they dont.
puncher and I am medicineman Thank this. -
Does the abilty to know the exceptions and their allowable applications
warrant such a social out casting label ?

Sure it does, only the CSA Qualified will make it to heaven

Two years is nothing, I don't get it. If you would of said you been out for 10,15, 20 years then I would agree with you, regarding the steering wheel holders. Now regarding the CB use, they where watching there back's for the man. 65+ is nothing, if you would of said 90 or so then maybe(not to say that's nothing wrong with it with a Mr. Haney tune). So they past you in the left lane, what was wrong with that ? It's there ticket , NOT YOUR's. If there's nothing in front of you and your not putting ANYONE else in danger on the OPEN road, "HAMMER DOWN".puncher, Yup, BigJohn54 and 1 other person Thank this.

Exactly!!
Simple radio 411 gets the front door rolling, back door gets a back door
and we step on across. It plays out everyday all day, after dark the County Cops are at one end or the other, generally on the west end.
Rarely do I see anyone clocking over 70 unless there is a long jam in the handicap lane
and you best scoot a boot and get squared up pretty quick.
Things out here are the way they have been for decades, for those of you trying to ride the shirt tail of truckin history wearing the "new shoes"
remember the number one rule and thats to mind your own business
and drive "your assigned truck".
You rookies dont be jealous of the "hammer down clowns",were tending to ours ,so just tend to yours.

Cowmobile, groundpounder, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -

I guess the problem I see on that bridge is the 4 wheelers...big surprise...
and the last minute lane changers.
Very seldom did I EVER see a big truck that was the CAUSE of an accident
on that bridge....there were some I'm sure......but it was rare.
I ran that bridge 2 and sometimes 4 times a week for 5 years. I saw the
wrecks and the multiple car pileups with a big truck INVOLVED.
Most of the INVOLVEMENT had to do with the basic head in their arse
4 wheeler doing something stupid......the big truck had nowhere to go
and was involved in the crash.
I've also seen some serious wrecks on the entrance to or exit from the
bridge with everybody trying to get back up to warp speed and not
paying attention to lane changes.
Getting in a hurry on that bridge is just foolish if not just plain STUPID.Yup Thanks this. -
far to many need the slap to the back of the head

Did it ever occur to you that the truck that passes you 4-6 times a day may be doing multiple stops or pickups ?? probably not, right ??
