I just started with another company. I have been driving for 6 months now fresh out of school. Now before that I drove other trucks for over 10 yrs professionally. The point is this. I have friends that have been driving for over 20 yrs that give me pointers when I ask. I have a trainer that has been driving for 3 yrs and you cannot tell him ####. He thinks he knows it all and believe it or not, I drive better than him. The poor guy can't keep the truck straight in his own lane. He's a nice guy, but nerve racking as hell. Example, he won't down shift going up a hill. He will be in 10th going up a hill and won't down shift until he slows till 45 or 40, by that time we have lost power in 10th, and he doesn't want me to down shift going up hill either. I'm just ranting right now. Got about one more week and I'm done with him.
Yall have a happy fathers day.

Get your final week over with and move ahead. Some guys are set in their ways and in their truck, it's their way.

Have a good week and a Great Father's day too.

Your right Gears, that's what all my friends have told me. Get through the week, drive the way the trainer wants me to drive and get it over with. Just to show you one of the things he's been telling me is: He says I'm making my right turns too wide, and that it's alright if I hit a curb sometimes that it's going to happen. I think true every once in a while it may very well happen, but no use in creating and starting bad habits. If you cut them too close you will eventually hit something or run over something so why not use all the real estate that is available to me? No need to respond to this, just showing you one thing.
Thanks Mr. V, you too. -
Yeah, I use all the real estate I need to make a turn if it's available and I'm not impeding on anybody else in the process. Sometimes it's fun to see how close you can get to the curb, but when you buy your own tires and everything else, I follow the "better be safe than sorry" mantra.
