connex 3400hp help

    i have this radio mounted in a 2011 prostar swr is 1.1. i think the radio is over heating the small hole that the radio is hot as hell.then the channel dial flashes what appears to be two f's then the channel displays goes blank loses all sound i take the radio out of the hole and let it cool it works fine?

    Rig up a small computer fan to blow on it. Heat is bad for any kind of electronics and will kill an amp eventually.

    If that 3400 HP is anything like the 4300 HP then it will run hot as hell if you like to talk a long time. Get it out in the open air and all will be better.

    thanks for the help turn out to be a battery in the radio was going dead replaced it and working fine now. i did move it out in the open so it can breath a little thanks for the help

    yeah a watch battery not sure what is used for but i replaced it and working fine now

    You can take it to a CB shop and they will put a battery pack in that won't die. I had mine for a year when the battery died. It's a stupid set up with that battery. Mine acted dumb when the battery gave

    Just had mine done last week. CB shop said that it won't happen again, but mine did the same thing when it went out.
