I retired from a 15 year career as a police officer and decided to follow a dream I had to drive over the road. Transam was my first taste of trucking and I can now warn all from experience, stay as far away from this dishonest, immoral company as you possibly can. First week I drove over 3200 miles and made $360. Only explaination from Transam was that I must have used too much fuel. It just got worse from there. I lasted five weeks, only two of which were positive pay weeks and was never able to get any help from the company. They would agree that my pay was off, but could not or would not explain why or offer any solutions on how to correct it. To add insult to injury, after I quit (as per their contract) they had the balls to send me a bill for $2800. The way this company conducts business should be criminal, it's a shame how they continue to screw driver after driver with a big ####y smile on their faces. If there is any credible pursuit to bring a class action suit against these people, count me in.![]()

You used too much fuel? Did you lease a truck from them?
-
Sure sounds like it doesn't it....
-
I bet he did, he said it has always been a dream. It wasn't a dream for me more like a nightmare.

If your an ooida member you might call and get some advice from them on any legal claims.
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
yep! while speaking to their recruiter I was assured that their drivers were averaging 2800-3200 miles a week. Either company or lease, plenty of miles and plenty of trucks. Then I return from training to find that "those" milage numbers were for lease drivers as they take the prefered trips. Company drivers will agerage 1500-2000 miles per week. Then they tell me that I can either start making money (at the higher pay rate) and take a lease truck that day or I could wait for a company truck at the hotel, which might only be a week or two. OK, how about option three, I quit. You can do that, I'm told, but if you do so prior to 90 days, you'll have to pay back all of Transams aquired expenses for you. I sign for a truck. I was then told that the first 1500 miles of each week will cover the truck expenses and that the rest would be mine. Just another in a long list of lies. We really need to pull together to put an end to the bs company and any other that behaves in this manner.

There is a way to end it!! Everyone stop signing these lease scams. When they run out people to rip off they will stop, but until that happens these outfits will continue to not only push fleece deals but try to force them on you.

The future for class action lawsuits doesn't look too good after Walmart got the US supreme court to toss that big sex discrimination lawsuit a female cashier persued against them. It's next to impossible for one person to win a lawsuit in court if they are going up against a big corporation (unless it's something like an accident that is well documented).Welcome to the USA, we the people is now replaced by We the Corporation.Money talks and buys lobbyists and lawmakers. In the USA we have government of,by and for the Corporation. And I don't buy that don't tax the rich because they create new jobs theory;look at the jobs they are creating;part time,no benefits, low pay. It's class warfare and the rich are winning.
