Not necessarily would your truck be louder of it is a flex pipe break, my Pete had that happen up in Wisconsin and it sounded the same, just depends where the break is. A cracked DPF is a possibility, but the fact that you have gone through 2 gallons of oil in two weeks is kind of alarming. If you are going to GB, you have a good guy working on your truck in Scott.

I guess the most practical solution would be for republicans to take over in 2012 and shut down the EPA so we can have reliable, fuel efficient trucks again.

 

I Hate Minivans,

This cracks me up. I just went on a 5 minute rant the other day telling my wife how much I HATE minivans and minivan drivers. I won't go into all the details, but I love you're name. Also, I've said many times, I think the EPA is one of, if not the biggest threat to our individual liberties today, and they've drawn a bulls eye on the trucking industry. I hope you're right and it's de-funded.

 

well folks hopefully we have a solution here.... i turns out my dpf was clogged to hell and that ash was getting hot hence the white smoke..... the egr cooler had been previously replaced and turns out they never clean the dpf... well we shall see later if that was the issue or not...at least i hope it was..

 

Sounds like that was it. Once the carbon build-up gets into the filter, and fails to get reduced via regeneration, it's got to be flushed out of the filter manually.

Silly of them to not do that, whoever replaced the EGR cooler in the first place.

So you're in Sheldon now? Last time I was in Sheldon they didn't want to send me home after nearly 2 weeks on the road. So I took my knife and cut apart a cardboard box and made a sign that said "EAST" and stood by the door by Jeanne's office holding my thumb out. Dale saw me doing that and 10 minutes later he had a load for me.
