I just reread the article. They are planning on hiring 30-50 drivers per month. The orientation site is at a hotel in Phoenix.
It's for the Truckload division.
QUOTE=Katey;2006841]Are you referring to Con-way Freight? Con-way Truckload does not have a terminal in Pheonix or even a yard unless I am mistaken.
Are you looking to do OTR or local?[/QUOTE]
Any and all questions about Conway Truckload can be answered here!

Ah that makes more sense then, the terminal thing was the part that had thrown me off.
The difference between Truckload and Freight is that Con-way Freight is LTL, they only go short distances from their terminal and come right back. Most are home every night, maybe occasionally missing some and staying in a hotel returning home the next day.
Con-way Truckload, however, is mostly OTR. There are some regional fleets and dedicated lanes but for the most part you go to all 48 states + canada. Truckload drivers earn 1 hometime day for every 7 days they run.
If you have any specific questions, ask away, but that's the basic difference.

spoke to a driver from conway today and he said they treat you like you know what? Idk if he was just a miserable person or if its true he said he belonged to the worse terminal and it is probably better at others lol

I'll go with the miserable person thing. They are everywhere. It's been said a thousand times...This job is what you make of it.

30-50 drivers a month? seams like alot to me.Does conway have that many trucks empty or do they expect most of us to fail or drop out?

does conway have a dress code ?? (no shorts or tanks)
-
You are supposed to look professional and you must wear appropriate footwear any time you are driving/on-duty (i.e. no flip-flops, crocs, sandals, etc...).
Other than that I can't think of any policy agains't shorts ot tank tops and have seen many drivers wearing both so I don't THINK there is but I am not 100% sure on that, sorry. -
I would suggest no shorts or tanks untill after you are hired and find out for sure. kakis clean new jeans polo or button down shirt Probably can skip the tie
