    ###### driver . . . I think I'll stop griping about my back problems now! :biggrin_25521:

Thanks to you and all the others that serve this country and help keep our freedoms!

Our military, fire fighters/emt's, and our police are three groups of people I have all the respect for and have no issues with life long benefits for them. They run risks and have to live with things the rest of us just can never understand.

OK,,,I'll let my disabled Veteran Husband respond to this one:biggrin_25513:
: This is repayment by the United States to its brave men and women who volunteer their body and soul to keep America free. To you it is a meer tax inconvience, to us who served and now suffer on a daily basis, it is our government fulfilling their end of our contract. I would rather be healthy. God Bless America.

The VA's 2012 budget request is $132.2 BILLION.
With a nation that is in debt up to it's eyeballs, we can't continue like this. Do you guys think, " I don't care what happens to the country now, I did my time. Just give me my money." ?

BTW, there is no "contract" that you, or the government, sign promising lifetime healthcare benefits.

$70 billion of that goes to entitlements, which not only includes disability, but medical expenses for those who were exposed to things like agent orange and also includes GI Bill education benefits.

Comparatively, since you think we are all looking for a hand-out, Welfare's bugetfor FY12 is over 495 billion!!!

Yet, I don't see you hounding them!

Go crawl back in your hole, Snake

There is plenty of pork in the federal budget that could be cut without hurting the men and women that have selflessly served this country.

Either you're a socialist, have a beef with the military, or are a troll. Which one matters little to me. You have your mind made-up and nothing is going to change that. It might be worth noting for future reference that in this entire thread YOU are the only one with your distorted take on this topic.

And before you say it - yes you are entitled to your opinion. BTW, you have the Veterans you are trying to short-change to thank for that.

First I am a vet and I will still defend this country to the End! but when people say drop vet benefits even though I don't take any it just goes to show how selfish the american people have become, we as a people forgot how to care about our neighbors and our friends, we once were a country that if anyone needed help someone would step up. now if your broke down on the road you get robbed. so before you say pul vets bennies lets drop welfare lets drop the subsidies and we can even raise your taxes, Me I pay enough!

Snake, we do still care about this country. I have talked to a recruiter Nd tried to re enlist but I am not able to because the infantry field is filled and is not accepting re enlisments at this time. It is very hard to sit back waiting for a phone call almost every week to hear the name of another friend that is in my old unit who was hurt. I have almost a dozen friends who have either been shot or lost a limb since late April early may time frame. I have to deal with the fact that I am not there to pull my trigger like last time and cover them. I have to just sit here and wait for these phone calls. So if you think we don't care about this country after we get out, think twice and think hard because I still to this day will die for one of my fellow Marines if that means they get to come home....
