Out here in New England our average pay varies between .37cpm to .40cpm however I make .42cpm as thats just what my contractor feels I am worth, you can always switch contractors if things didnt work out and you found a willing contractor to take you on. Ive had every one of the big contractors here ask/tell me "If you ever need a job just let me know" I ask the pay rate and kindly decline as they say they cant beat what Im paid lol. To make it simple every contractor their is essentially a different company so your results will vary. I average 60 hours a week running locally from about 3pm to 3am on average, Im home every night or day however you would call it. Definetely an easy job I try to spice it up by backing things up in spots as for me everywhere i go its drop the trailer and grab another set no backing required, at first was fun but Id hate to lose my touch at backing, Ill even grab the occasional 53 footer empty and blindside it in just to keep in shape.

Hey Stick with it Ground is cake. I did temp work for the fishersville va terminal before I got my dream job with W. I talked with the contractor who owns the line haul trucks and he said he had both rigs paid for in 18 months. I was on the call list for line haul but it never came the guy who was driving for the contractor was supposed to retire but he changed his mind cant say I blame him he had it made.

Yeah I seen on the site that o/o get paid 95 cents per mile and average 2400 miles a week.

 

That doesn't include the fuel surcharge and discounts of tires, insurance and such they get.

Fuel surcharge this week is around .42cpm.

 

Does .42 cpm cover your fuel costs?

 

I Live In S.W. Ms. Off Of I10. Can ANYONE Put Me In Touch With A FedEx Contractor That Can Hire Me Out Of This Area?

 

Depends on what your MPG is. Most FS are figured on a truck getting atleast 6mpg won't pay no more than $1.25 a gallon.

Lets say the price of diesel is $4.00. The formula goes like this......-1.25+4.00 devided by 6= .458cpm. Let's say .46cpm.

Now if your getting 7mpg your paying less than $1.25 a gallon. Run that formula in reverse, but change 6 to 7, and you'll see that 7mpg truck is actually paying $0.78 a gallon. So O/O on that FS program(WHICH IS MOST) getting above 6mpg, love higher fuel prices. the higher fuel goes, the less they pay at the pump.
