so now, BY THIS DEFINITION of phishing, one can "plainly see" that Amateur Trucker "could be" sending out bait (*aka* American Trucker) in hopes of perhaps causing an argument with someone in where American Trucker gets the blame.....(thusly, American Trucker is a *brand* name here...)

it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE solely for the purpose of stealing credit card numbers and such....

i'll stand by (more than one web definition of phishing) and MY thoughts about "phishing"......as well.

when it comes to message boards, "phishing" takes on another way of "stealing" one's identity....(as also "Lantern" said....)..over the years i have been on a few website message boards, and the havoc one starts by "phishing" another's ID is all too real, AND the mods/admins of those sites would cancel out ANY such "phishing" attempts, to protect the reputation and integrity of the "original". even American Trucker himself said he was contacted by the admin......what does that tell anyone...??? that perhaps he was being suspect of creating another account for himself to come here and create havoc.. under a different ID..and get away with it..??? do you "see" how that makes him (American Trucker) look..??? i might add to that not too long ago, someone was here with the name "chrome dome"...VERY SIMILAR to a "chrome dome" we already have..???


like "Lantern" has said.....(to flatbed) "You have won this round sir, but not for long! "

 

Oh give it a REST , give 1 FRIGGIN variation of anything on here and the keyboard experts show up .

 

Didn't realize there was a contest to see who was winning which arguments around here.


Let's go back to the original topic and stop the behavior that does the thread no good.

 

wasn't any so-called "argument" just more than one definition of "phishing".. which someone didn't know about.
