Azurite, in Palstine Texas like to hire convicts who have CDLs, you see Azurite gets a $2500.00 tax break for hireing an ex-con they save money on insurance because of the clean driving record, and they belive that everybody has the right to work. So if you don't mind working along side a pedifile rapest or muderier go talk with them, because they won't tell you what to expect from the driver next to you.

SO you think that a person who has served their time, and now needs to join the mainstream population should not get that chance?
Really?
Please try to come up with another reason you don't like them.jerrytdd, Big John, kid_cardiac and 1 other person Thank this. -
They are an oilfield tank truck company so they do local/regional hauling. So what if they hire someone with a criminal history. What are you scared of?
Their hiring criteria.
5) Have a respectable Criminal Background check.

Sounds to me someone got fired and is mad. The ex-cons I have been around and worked with were dam good workers and always on time and did the job. You wouldn't even know they did time and for what unless they told you. I will say this I have no use for anyone that has committed a crime against a child or the elderly and I try to stay away from serial killers.Rollover the Original and jerrytdd Thank this. -
can ex cons get a HazMat endorsement?
-
That is a good question. If they can pass the over rated background check yes. If not then no! I would begin to say if it's put you on a sexual predator list, a drug offense or a gun crime you might want to keep your money in your pocket and forget a X endorsement.
I would Google the question and see where it leads you or just Google hazmat background check or what will make you not pass the hazmat background check. Or what will disqualify you from passing the background check!
Now whats really funny is that overpriced and overrated background check will not get you through a TSA check or keep you from becoming friends with one who's fondling your junk!
That's right. That background check that tells someone that you are a trusty American and can haul maybe 50,000 gallons of some liquid or 44,000 pounds of boxed dangerous substance that can kill more people that a plane crashing into the ground will not get you through a grouping by the TSA!
Go freaking figure that one out! That makes the price and usefulness of a gooberment check by the same department of the gooberment pretty much useless just like Obama, Homeland Security that group of worthless TSA agents and a worthless fence just that a waste of yours and my money for the fun of going through fingerprinting and filling out a dozen stupid pages of information that for some reason didn't make it to the let them pass list at airports!
Just another miserable fail of a worthless gooberment department of over paid people!Big John Thanks this. -
My parole officer got me my 1st driving job... we are kind of liberal on criminals out here !!!

-
I thought it was your Parole Officers Parole Officer that got you the job?

No Hazmat required for water trucks but, it could be usefull because some transfer of drip is required but usally not moved over roads. I don't have a problem with ex-cons I just don't spend anytime with people of that mind set. But wheres the logic in hirring an ex-con then paying them $80K a year to start? Are they going to get into trouble with that kind of money?

I would much rather see ex felons out earning an honest living than going out and committing crimes. Everyone deserves an opportunity to earn a living to support themselves and their families. There are a lot of people wrongly convicted in this country. A number of behaviors are now considered crimes that were not criminalize only a few years ago. Most people will provide for their families. I would much rather see them doing something honest. If we don't offer people an opportunity to rehabilitate themselves then we can expect to see them back in the criminal justice system. People can change if given an opportunity. It makes it hard when so called law abiding citizens refuse to give them a chance. By the way, we have had felons in trucking for as long as I can remember. It was one of the few professions that some could enter that would not scrutinize their backgrounds quite so closely. That has only changed in recent years. It is also much more difficult to hide a criminal past in today's technological environment.
