Yup. The 9th and 10th amendments give powers to the states which the federal government isnt bonded to by the constitution.

And it seems like jealousy to me....You still don't have much of an argument as to why companies cannot do this....When all arguments fail, you bring up the union vs. non's stuff...And I think, that we are not allowed to go "political" on this forum anymore..How ARE those "black helicopters" doing ??? And I certainly don't miss the non-factual paranoia either.."Whiny" ? "Arrogant" ? I'm puzzled. I replied to your posts with the facts as I know them as we dealt with them in my particular situation. You choose to deal in rather useless attacks on my answers, citing legal points that have absolutely nothing to do with ownership of private property. Go ahead...make that big constitutional "stand" your so eager to do. I'd love to read about it, but as we all know that will never happen. And I'm sure you quit a union gig....More than likely, they quit YOU..Or, you never worked there in the first place..Last edited: Jul 7, 2011

Bulletproof77, if you're afraid to keep "getting political" in this thread, feel free to PM me. -
Sure. There was a time when they stood up for the workers, not hiring teams of lawyers to agree with the legal justifications that their Corporate Masters use in defiling their workforce.
Negotiated? IMHO there is absolutely nothing to negotiate. You put them in your truck, your trucks won't move. Whether by our drivers or any scabs. Better bring out your Corporate police forces and their batons because the employer's operations need to be shut down airtight.
There are principles all throughout life. Even a lack of principles is a set of principles.

I really have nothing better to do so I'll jump back in. Recording a drivers conversations by video or audio is bad. Recording what is happening outside the truck after a trigger is tripped may actually do some good. I can't really see the problem with this if it is used in that way. If a company wants to fire you they can easily manufacture a reason to do so, heck most of your company manuals have a statement that says "we reserve the right to change these policy at any time without notice". If they want to fire you they're going to fire you, its not likely that they are going to spend the money to spy on you when it serves no purpose. More than likely if you are talking smack about the company to your wife you've done the same with another driver, you'd be surprised how quickly that other driver will turn around and tell dispatch or safety.

Are you asserting then that the 1st thru 8th amendments give the federal government powers over us instead of limiting their powers? Really?
-
The company i worked for once had the interior of a truck Completly ripped to shreds by a husband/wife team looking for "the secret microphone" ....
-
Yeah....I used to know some of those paranoid speed freaks that thought, there were microphones in all of the cigarette lighter outlets and cameras in the windshield center post.
