I was just asking the obvious question looking for a clarification on your view. Thanks for the laugh.

Did you check behind the HVAC vents in the dash? Take a really good hard look at the truck logo on the steering wheel too. :biggrin_25524:

Give me a break !! No camera is ever going into my truck! That's going a little too far! It has nothing to do with how I drive or anything else. I have a perfect safety rating. No tickets and I never go over 65MPH.

They wanna watch me then they can watch me move on over to a better company. No in cab cams but I have a dash cam that is mine.

Well don't stop at the vents or power outlets! How about in the switches on the dash.
    Or behind the dash gauges!
HEY! The seat! Maybe just behind the head so any sound recorders will be close to the mouth!
OH MY GOD!! The horn lanyard could have a mic woven in with it!
Even that stupid mesh stuff over the shelves!
I'd open the passenger seat where they could put a weight detecting device like new cars are doing to turn on the airbag for that side! They could have them in that passenger seat for in case you have an "undocumented rider" sitting on it so rip it apart as well, that mic in the head rest could be recording your "work the payment" with whoever came for a visit!
Pull any buttons out of the upholstery if you have tuck and pleated velour stuff! They are nice hiding places!
Heck just set fire to the stupid truck! That'll get rid of the cameras and recording devices!

So what if they call you in for something you said!

They would have a fun time with me as I'll unload on them in a heart beat! There is something written somewhere that says something about freedom of speech and privacy and a few other things and if they are so upset because I was slamming them then they should either try to correct what has now been made obvious because when the people who are the ones bringing the money into the company start to complain about bad practices or stupid problems they should be repairing those things.

BUT me, if they pulled me in for some scoldings or spanking that won't work! I'll be in some morons face with an answer that will go like this...Whats my on time rate?
    Whats my driving record?
    Whats my accident record?
Whats my overall average of on times, early to P/U or Deliveries?
Whats my just overall record for an employee?
When they tell me it great I'll stand up look the idiot in the eye and ask them what their problem is if they can't take a little criticism and if they have a problem then give it to me in writing and I'll go unload the truck and you can drop and KMA!

Then I'll write a letter to the state attorneys office and ask about recording devices in a truck that I sleep in, get dressed in and have private conservations with my spouse in and let them decide with a little aggravation for my ex company in time and money having to deal with the state which will come before I sue the holy crapola out of them!

That will set the precedent of what can be a legal way to "collect information" on drivers.

I have no problem with outside cameras videoing all the morons who drive around me. Those cameras could save you a lot of headaches down the road when the accident wasn't your fault but the law suits start to come in as you know they will. It could also save your insurance a ton if some moron backs into you and drives off or tears your hood off pulling out and he never felt a thing!

Heck you can download the video and post it on YouTube and actually make money by allowing advertising on the things! That can be a big help as you drive for that BFI that pays 1970s pay so he can buy these cameras and spy on you toys!

It's the ones that look in and watch you beyond the drivers seat I'll have a problem with! It will keep becoming blurry!

No, not really...My ONLY argument was that a PRIVATE company that has it's OWN trucks (which THEY PAID FOR) CAN do what it want's with them. Do I like these things ? Absolutely not. Am I trying to DEAL with them in this lousy economy and get the best deal for our drivers ? You bet. When it occurs at your company (which it will eventually), then please, come back and tell people how you dealt with it. It's a conundrum....Does someone quit what is otherwise a GREAT job in a lousy economy for the incorrect principle that a private owner of a fleet cannot do what they wish ? Would anyone want to suggest what I tell these drivers while they are standing in an unemployment line, HOW to pay their bills ? I don't notice anyone of the posters here going FIRST. It's great to have "principles" as long as it's the "other guy"..And if you some of you had looked at the Iteris website you would see that some of their biggest customers are the companies on this website..
