Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Well, I hate to be negative but I can't find the positive here and our members deserve the facts. You can check my many positive posts if you suspect I'm a negative poster.
Why would an owner/operator find it appealing that you keep referring to them as your drivers? Why would we take the trouble to send a resume to a post that contains hype and no information. Your percentages are high enough. Do you furnish everything - base plates, insurance and such? What are the last month or quarter's average miles and rates? Informed minds respond to facts.
All the above are positive pointers on attracting positive responses. Now for the bombshell. Your FMSCA scores are beyond belief! They range from 79 - 99 and indicate you will soon be out of business. Now granted, your reason for needing trucks could be that you are trying to clean house. I fear it speaks more for your operation and the quality of drivers and/or owner/operators that you can attract.Last edited: Jun 21, 2011
TURKER, SheepDog, Ukumfe and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was asking the same questions before I read your response Big John.
And with a score like they have, even if they are cleaning house, it will take a lot of time to bring that score down. So, you can plan on being inspected on a monthly basis if not more frequently.BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Yes, our ratings are in the gutter, I know this. I have just taken over this operation 5 days ago, with the orders to build a flat bed fleet. I am working very close with the DOT, and the FMCSA to fix the issues at hand. I started this by getting rid of the drivers and office staff that put us in the mess. Now I want to put on quality drivers, fix the staffing issues, and bring us back. As for not giving every last detal, we feel its better to give some, then talk in person with details, and get a feel for eachother. It's not perfect yet...but I am working every day to make it that way.

Good luck Dean! You've got your work cut out for you. You're very honest and strait-forward. If you have been given the tools to facilitate a successful
outcome, I'm sure you will do just that. -
Ohhhh I know I have my work cut out for me, But I will not fail, I have the DOT coming in next week, to sit down with me, and start working with me to help recover this. I have fired drivers that were nothing more then a rooling violation, cut staff that refused to work, and just let thing go down the drain, and have a free hand to rebuild this company. It's going to take time, I know this. I do not expect to fly in here and set the world on fire in the first week. But I have made the first steps, by working with the DOT and FMCSA, and not having them work against us.
BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
