Well I'm just driving this Van for a fleet owner so I'm not sure how extensive I can get in modifying it.

I might look up a camping supply store and see what options I can come up with.

Well, in that case, I would at least look into a generator, a circulation of air would probably help immensely via an oscillating fan. The great thing about the Honda I showed, their resell value is very near the actual retail price, but they can cost $800-$1000 and up. Bad thing about that is finding a used one for less. The cheaper generators can get really loud and can be very large.

I went with the Honda for camping use, most campgrounds have a "no generator" rule, and I've yet to have a problem, because most of time you can't even tell its running.

Hope you find a solution to that issue, because I can only imagine how unbearable it can be in heat. Good luck!

You can chain it to the van and put it in and out

Okay I wasn't sure if that was directly mounted on the roof.

Also to power that I wondered if it's possible to trickle charge a deep cell battery while driving and then power the A/C unit with it when the van is off? Just a thought.

The AC unit is mounted to the roof. The generator however is what you would chain to an axle or whatever doesn't move, and no one would steal it because if it was sitting there, someone definitely would!

I read somewhere that using space blankets will help with warmth. I wonder if they would help reflect the heat on the glass also. Just a thought.
