A local station here interviewed the owner this morning. Good on him...his business, no laws broken, and he's catering to the majority of his customers.

He made a great point...this is not a kid's place; no kid's menu, no crayons. It caters to adults, has a bar, etc. etc. And he was increasingly finding himself having to explain to couple's that left their kids at home with a babysitter, why a couple who brought their screaming 6 month old were entitled to ruin everyone else's experience.

I've got kids myself...a bunch of them. Today, they range from 9 to 20. If we went to McDonalds or Chuckee Cheese or some other kid friendly place, kids sometimes came with us. If we went out to eat at a nice restuarant for our date night, kids stayed home. Always.

    Common sense.

Unfortunately, too many parents these days think their kids are fragrant wonders 24/7 and can do no wrong, all while they are crawling up on someone else's table and stealing their french fries.

I agree.... but the word of banning children have a negative effect... and the true measure is banning PARENTS who can't control their children.

I lived in PA for 7 years, and while Southern children aren't perfect, I was amazed at how PA (esp around Philly) children would scream, holler, run around, etc... and their parents were blind and deaf... I asked one dad about the noise from his youngster at an Applebees... and he said "Connor is just expressing himself". I explained that it was our anniversary, and may way of "expressing myself" would be to give dad the spanking that he never gave Connor for acting like a hellion in public.

This country sure has come a L-O-N-G way from the premise that "children should be seen, but not heard". Unfortunately, it has gone to the exact opposite end of the spectrum..."all children should be heard....no matter the circumstances". These days, it seems as if there is no value placed upon manners, and simple consideration for others, by parents.

Explains a lot about the way they act when they grow up. Or fail to.

I've been in places where they should ban the parents because they act worse than the kids. Some people just want something to ##### about. Reminds of a lot of people on here now that I think about it.

Somebody posted this on www.therangerstation.com in the forum with the thread "I would sooooo eat here".

Last I checked, 100% of the follow-up posts were in favor of the brat-ban on there too.
