I'm new to the industry; looking to start my own business which I will need a big truck for moving equipment. I was looking around the internet and I noticed that there are very few Ford HD trucks for sale compared to Pete/FL/KW. I also don't see very many on the roads around here, and I live next to an Interstate Highway. I assume these truck did not sell very well, but I am wondering why??? Did they have a lot of problems, or were most people so loyal to their other brands that they didn't want to branch out?? Thanks for any info...

Ford got out of the class-8 truck business around 1997 when they sold their heavy-truck division to Daimler AG Truck Group (Freightliner, Western Star), which was re-named Sterling Trucks (subsequently shut down in 2010).

Ford still offers their class-6 and class-7 trucks (F-650, F-750).

Yep, Ford Cargo is concidered the cheapest trucktor on EU market. It is not very popular, but I can see it on European roads.

But how many Fords in Turkey!

    worst truck ever

euro 3 version with 350hp tractor cost 65000€ without tax for that money you can get axor CF iveco and premium far better trucks

i know one driver that drive one of very few in my country he says that this is worst piece of crap only ford and turks can make such bad thing

he told that he must use both hand for gearshifting , that both differential bushings are leaking

that electric retarder is useful only on first hill

    that they changed clutch 2times

and it has only 120 000km

edit: and they also build them in brazil

but many of people from my country including me would rather drive 30year old decent european truck than this

another edit: euro 5 should cost 5000€ more

now you can get pretty good equiped premium for 64500€

    including euro5+eev 460hp

    automated gearbox

    freezer

    some better package of equipment

    cooled box in dashboard

    two fuel tanks
