again i am so sorry to hear this...This topic is really bugging me.Why would you want to take the chance of risking your life screwing a lot lizard knowing there is so much crap out there?I mean thats horrible.Surely you could have found a g/f,wife,or whatever besides a slut off the street that screws anything that walks...

Again as a human being I am so sorry to hear this..But again as a woman I am angry that you stooped down to that level...

Just adding my 2c worth as a nurse
HIV takes around 3 months to establish itself in the body. Just becuase someone says they took a test and are negative, does NOT mean that they actually are.
The process is called seroconversion, and its why tests are done again after 6 and 12 weeks if there has been a possible contact.
health care workers get the same test, if they get stuck with an infected needle, they are standard, no matter what the circumstances.
There is a drug therapy that can be given and it is effective although not 100%, at lessening the risk of transmission. Best taken within the first 6 hours, get yourself to an ER fast!

Not saying this relates to this particular case, its just some info I wanted to put out there.
Its not just lizards that are a risk, it can be any casual encounter . . . .

My ex wife worked for the county we lived in DA's office as an investigator. I won't mention the county but you can figure it out. About 3 years ago, they went out and rounded up every prostitute, TV and TS they could find at ALL the local truck stops in Ontario, Fontana and Colton/San Bernardino. The purpose was not to put them in jail, (although they did screen for warrants/parole violations etc.), it was to basically mandate they do a blood test, due to parole/probation conditions. Over 70% tested positive for HIV, OR had full blown AIDS or another serious STD. I'm not a prude, but I could never figure out why someone would willingly give themselves (or their innocent family back home) a death sentence.

I don't either Bulletproof but that is their choice if they so choose to do that kind of thing. I know I am not the only one that hears Truckers talk about; "If you aint doing it, you don't know what your missing". Like it is a funpark or something. Not my thing but I don't put others down for doing it. As far as I am concerned, if a man a woman want to get together and he gives her money for it, it is consentual and the law does not have a place. The law only gets involved for one reason and that is MONEY. It isn't about safety,,we all know that...

Again, not my business what another person does that doesn't effect me or my family or the ones I care about or even a stranger down the street. If that is their thing,,,Knock yourself out.

I'm not trying to sound like and ###, but how did you get so much information about her? And how do you know she gave you H.I.V.? I'm just asking.

I can certainly understand each and everyone’s comments but now to explain more.
I first met the individual in question several years ago while some fellow truckers and I were laid over in St Louis. We all went to the Hustler Club in Washington Park, IL. To relax and have a good time. She and some other girls were there for ladies night so we bought them a drink.
They were all well dressed, clean and well mannered giving us no indication they were nothing but a few girls out for the evening too. We soon started a conversation with them, talking about the work they did, which according to them was office work for Southwest Bell. She became interested in over the road driving and about the rigs we drove. Needless to say there never was a hint of anything sexual. We exchanged phone and E-mail numbers and she asked if it would be alright to call. I said ok and that was it for the night. We left and got some Zees because we each had a long run to make the next evening.
Every trip I made thru the area we managed to meet up and have dinner or if I had time, take in a movie or go to the Club. I never made a move on her and she never indicated anything other than she was interested in a relationship. This went on for about 6 months when she wanted to go with me on a run just to see what it was like. On that trip did we manage to get together. Again there was no indication she was a pro. Just your typical girl next door that any man would want to get to know.
As time went on and we got to know each other better things started to change. I began to notice may contradictions in the things she said which were not what she had said earlier. She started having problems with one thing and then another. For example she lost the lease on her apartment and wanted some help getting another. She complained of car problems and then when I came into town 6 months ago she called saying she wanted me to take her to the hospital because she was having a bad discharge. I took her to a hospital where I knew my sister worked in the ER. After receiving treatment we drove back to her new place and I left to finish my run.
While on the road I received a call from my sister and she informed me about her. She had been in several Emergency Rooms during the past year and that she was HIV Positive and had not taken any medication that she had been given to take. She also goes to the East Side Health Clinic where she regularly sees the STD side. It appears all the local police and many of the local establishments know she is HIV positive. The discharge was from an STD infection.
Nice to have a sister that was able to pass that info along, even thou in may not be proper. Needless to say my sister was not too happy but understood about her charms. I was ordered by her to come in and get screened again even thou I get screened periodically.
I had begun to be more tired and seem to be losing weight even though I ate like a pig.
The result of the test show I had Aids and that it had started to weaken my Immune system severely. I was ordered to give up driving and start a regiment of meds. The meds proved too costly so I give them up. I just want to get it over soon. Sold my Rig and have put the money away in a trust for my Nephews. Also bought my plot and paid up front for my Casket and Funeral expenses so as to not burden my sister with the hassle.
After getting the bad news I started my own investigation into her back ground and was able to get her life history so to speak. After confronting her over the phone with it I never heard from her again but have heard she is still doing her thing around the Gateway Truck stop and in the Washington Park and East St Louis area. Be wary of a women’s charm and remember, as one person said, “You can get it more than 1 way”.
I Just wanted to warn all fellow truckers as to the problems we can get into after a long and lonely run. Keep safe a GOD BLESS all TRUCKERS. HammerJack signing off

Thank you for your posts... I don't doubt that took a measure of courage on your part. I hope you have come to peace with your situation and I am sorry you received such a harsh rush to judgement after your first post.

HammerJack, I want to say thank you for being so open and honest about what you're dealing with, and I'm sorry that you are. It's true that no matter if you are black, white, male, female, gay, straight, use protection or not, if you are sexually active you are at risk for something. Like so many others, you learned the hard way. And no, I'm not gonna put you down...how could I? I was diagnosed HIV positive in November 2005. And I'm still here. The meds are expensive, true...but there are groups out there that can help pay for them, often pay in full. Don't give up man...please. HIV/AIDS is not the death sentence it used to be. It is manageable with proper treatment, and you can live a long, normal life. Depending on the medication, you are still able to drive a truck...I know, because I am.

If you need someone to talk to, pm me. If anyone reading this is going through something similar, or has a genuine question, you are welcome to do the same. And please, no more negative comments. People beat themselves up enough without folks coming in and throwing punches.

I'll keep you in my prayers...and please...DON'T GIVE UP!
