    I agree, read it and figure this. I am curious as to when Marines operate on a patrol in a company? It is usually by squad and if its a major OP its is Platoon but still split into squads.

    Also your trying to tell me after being shot in the hip, and the leg you were able to still walk? I dont believe that for a second. I have plenty of friends that have been shot when we were in Afghanistan and one was in both legs. Hit by an RPK, broke both tibia and fibia in both legs and he did not walk out of there.... I want more proof of this and also I'm pretty sure I would of heard of this Jenkins seeing as I have a bunch of friends that were in Phantom Fury.

    Though I was injured in basic training and was unable to continue to serve my country in the Navy back in 1989 and remain ignorant of military units and goings on in Afghanistan and Iraq let me just say this...

    Anyone that would pray on the ignorance of the general public to shine a light on their imagined service during this war for their personal glory is in my book a traitor. To make up a story like this and foist it on the unknowing public is an affront to the marines, soldiers, airmen and sailors who have fought and died in the sands of the Middle East. You, sir, should be ashamed.

    To those of you brave few that walked the sands and mountains, exchanged fire along the Tigris, and to those souls and friends and family that you lost there. I salute you all for doing the job that I endeavored to join you in. Without your efforts this country and the freedom we enjoy stands for naught. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my family for your service to our country, and for your ability to stay the fears, and not go gently but rage against the dying of the light of freedom wherever that may be.

    Schmud, congratulations on your new position, from what I've been reading on these boards the last few weeks, if more office people started in a rig things would run much smoother.

    I have read the entire thread and still have a couple of questions....

    First, I'm 54 and have been working in shipyards and industrial facilities all over the country for over 15 years. I've had a B CDL since 2004 and have been driving boom trucks and cranes around S. FL. installing construction elevators on high rise buildings. I'm not unfamiliar with loading and unloading flats and drop decks as we used them to move equipment and materials all the time. Moving on to pulling flatbeds with an A license seems like a natural progression for me.

    I'm arranging my own tuition so I wont be stuck with a payback plan and going to school in the fall.

    1. When is the best time to start talking to a recruiter or HR manager, and how do you get past the online application to talk to a real person?


    2. I live in S.FL. but have a second residence in VA just west of 95, can I use the VA address to put me in a more desirable hiring area?

    3. Can you switch up where you take your home time? FL one month, Virginia next time.

    Thanks for any input you or your friends can give me. I'm working hard to make a sound decision.

    i would call the swift hotline 1-800-800-2200 and they have voice prompts. On monday sometime the whole phone system is changing for the better so you will allways be patched through to a live person
