There are lots of posts about upgrading a C-15. What about the C-12? Do any of you have any experience doing any mods on this "fleet, throw away motor?"
Any C-12 Upgrades?

Fuel and boost wire. Fleet air filter open exhaust and make sure its turned up out of the box.

Turned up out of the box???
Fuel and boost wires work the same way as on the C-15? -
yes they're the same. What kind of budget you working with?

I believe Mr Haney has a nice program/turbo combo that could have a c-12 running with 550's.

Well, it's just a cheap old truck. (Under 10K) It's not mine, but it might be. I just didn't want to fool with it if it was something that would wind up being a dead end. I am looking at the potential of it right now. But if the budget was big, I'd be looking towards a different truck/engine combo anyway.

A friend of mine just did a program and turbo from PDI on his 2ks c12 and absolutly loves it!!!!
-
Well that's what I was wondering, the fuel temp resistor is the only "free" hp your going to get. If you really want to make it run PM Mr.Haney and get the PDI flash/turbo but that's going to be somewhere around $3k I believe. However it will run like a totally different truck. I wouldn't knock the C12, they run like a champ. We've got one at 430hp and it would really hustle any of our 6NZ 550's to run away from it. However now after the PDI flashes on the 6NZ's that's not the case which is why I'd love to have the C12 done.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I wasn't necessarily looking for free solutions, but was wondering if some of the same stuff that works on a C-15 would have similar results on the C-12. I am waiting to hear back from Mr. Haney. Thanks to everyone who responded.Last edited: Jul 21, 2011
