Why do some truckers dislike flatbed trucking

With flatbeds, the driver doesn't have to load or unload anything as a general rule. Strapping down loads is not a big deal. Tarps? Don't pick loads that requires tarps. Some flatbed companies won't touch loads that require tarps.

 

You just put the cart in front of the horse. Without the coil they can't make the can to put your food in...

 

This was yesterday.

I even had to carry a paper towel with me in case I started to sweat rolling my tarp closed, man tarping is so hard!

 

Are there many oportunities for teams to run flats for companies?

 

I've been pullin a flat for 7 years,and that is a sight which is very rare;however,I do believe their is a member on this forum who does,but,it is a husband & wife team..Sorry,cant help you much..

 

i use to pull a van, and after dealing with the yahoo's in the retail sector i can't go back and do it...

and the extra work is good for you beats sitting in the seat while being unloaded

tarping is no big deal except when you can't tarp till some one else is done with catcher

 

Yup. Company called System does for one. Probably more.

 

Lazy people dont like running a bed, period.

 

Because when some lardazz who "opened doors and backed in" realizes that they have to tarp in sub-zero or 100+ Temps...They go back to opening the doors and backing in.....
