Pretty sure they reimburse your fuel if you live further than 50 miles out.
-
I hope they reimburse my fuel, because I really don't want to ride day and night in a bus from northern VA.
-
Call em and ask but someone here knows for certain. Maybe its like 100 miles out but something like that is what I heard.
-
Pretty sure it's 100 miles..
I once rode from Anaheim, CA to Phoenix, AZ on a greyhound.. Broke down 3x's and I swore Id never ride in one again, and If I had to Id be #### sure to be heavily medicated. -
It's 800 miles between my home (Winchester VA) and Millington TN.
-
Pretty sure you will get reimbursed up to the cost of the Greyhound ticket, but it won't be until after you are done with school and earning a paycheck.

I rode my scooter to phoenix from san diego the first week and was reimbursed the fuel. every week after i drove the car back and forth and was not reimbursed. then for orientation i flew out and back (greyhound can kiss my beak) and was reimbursed the value of the bus ticket.

If you live over 50 miles away they get you a bus ticket. I wouldn't hold my breath on reimbursement for driving. Plus, what are you going to do when they assign you a trainer and your vehicle is 800 miles from home? How you gonna get it back once you start working?

Neal got it right, keep your receipt. After you get coded you get with driver services and get a P.O. for reimbursement up to the cost of the bus ticket. At least that was how it was done some 5 years ago. Got the money with the 2nd check.
Edit...you can take the car back to Virginia when you go back there to test in VA for your CDL.
