Yep, tarping and strapping is so hard I have to take two days off afterwards. If you done it all day long, everyday, then I would say you are working hard. I seen lazy people run bed too. They don't tarp, lol.

Try tailgating 20,000 plants or a load of furniture. 2000 windows are fun also. Or pulling off 2500 lb pallets with a pallet jack and repalletizing 1000 boxes.

    We all work at times.

The type of freight is why I never run bed. When construction slowed down is a perfect example.

#9, & #10 seems all my life. Flatbedding is a great way to live. Early hours, as often places wont accept past 2pm or 5 pm. No need for teams/expediant delivery. Hard work, slightly, but its not food delivery. Started out flatbedding and now food delivery, but i like the break up of tasks. Flatbedding is enough work to not get crazy fat, and food delivery will build muscle noticeablly. I see big boned guys w/ bicyclers type calfs. I miss Arrow trucking.

One intresting thing ive seen is a lot more reefers going to spread axle trailers. I think they are getting tired of sliding tandems.[/QUOTE]

Plus no need to scale if the load is balanced. I am new to the food delivery driving, and I already miss the spread axle-All HAIL the spread axle. I remember hauling 43-48K lbs and looking at the load and not even scaling it, now I am told 38K is automatic scaling for reefer. Missing the days of flatbedding all too often.

    An advanced skillset.....

    'Bedders are like a Chef...
    As box-tuggers are just burger-flippers.....

There, I do hope that clears up your confusion on the subject....:biggrin_255::biggrin_2559:
