Good timing making the jump to ind cont, runningman. I predict this is going to be a great year for open deck transportation. Building materials have not totally rebounded, but the most other sector we serve are going strong. Make sure you get that FSC spelled out though...you need to get 100% of that revenue. We are currently charging .56/mi add'l for FSC, and our contractors need every penny to cover their add'l fuel cost. Good luck in 2011.

I got an 06 frtlnr century class ( an old crete truck) the interior is in good condition, the paint and body are in good shape. It has a detroit that was obviously fleet maintained and so far seems to run fine. So far I have been treated with nothing but respect. I just got assigned a covered wagon yesterday, so I guess we will see how that goes.
-
Sounds good, I see a lot of older company trucks around. I would think most fleet trucks would be in good shape, since most companies are strict on the way you treat your truck.
Glad they are treating you good over there. Hope you make lots of money. I don't know anything about pulling covered wagons. Good luck! -
I live in Portland, Indiana right across the line from Fort Recovery

Better than industry average loaded rate per mile
Newer Trucks
100% pass through fuel surcharge & tarp pay
3 months of Flatbed experience required, 6 months OTR within 3 years
Take home pay averages $700 - $1,000/wk
Increases to $1,200 as deductions drop off
90 base pay program (Earn 75% to 100% of the load)
yes its possible ive done it for awhile at around 1500 steady a week but just tryin to see why there low-ballin themselves on there website by about 700-1500 a week?? I called them and the recruiter said your averaging around .92 a mile not including fsc but they said its at .42 mile this week. -
