Thanks for the kind words. The torque in my everyday work set up has never been dyno tested for the peak torque. The last time I dynoed that combo of parts and tune was 3640Lb-Ft at 1800 RPM at the flywheel and climbing as RPM dropping. We weren't testing for peak torque and never pulled the engine lower than 1800 RPM to see how high the torque would go.

Nope, put the short block together as a standard C-16 and run it

Not unless you want custom pistons

The C-18 has been used in one truck I heard of. the owner loved the torque and power. The truck loved the fuel island...........3.8 mpg at 700 hp at the flywheel.

How would the c-18 work anyway with the programing? never seen a c-18 with jake brakes, cruise etc? how could you adapt a truck ecm to adapt assuming a c-18 file and a c15/c16 must be miles apart? We have a couple c-18's in equiptment where i work, thats all 24 volt stuff also. have seen 1 truck with a c-18 though, quite impressive

The C18 was available in Europe as a truck engine so the there is software and jakes for them to be used in a truck. The points made about reliability and fuel economy seem to be common though. But then again a C18 twin turbo at 950HP from the factory would be fun while it lasts:biggrin_255:.
