Hello drivers. I drive for a west coast based food grade carrier, and I know a driver that left my company to go to IRT. He told me IRT has a new terminal in Turlock, Ca. and Wayne the boss at Turlock said IRT is adding 100 trucks to that terminal for "west coast" runs. Apple juice from Wa. to L.A. and wine from Ca. to Canada. Also, IRT has an ad in an Oregon newspaper for hiring drivers for this west coast run. I called the number placed in the ad for IRT, and I got a recording saying the number was no longer in service. Hmmmm....
lv gn Thanks this. -
Well I have a friend who said IRT is starting E-Logs.Said he has seen them in several trucks now. They have now lost their Prepass privilege do to their bad safety rating.I also was told the trucks are being turned back to 65 mph because of all the Canadian tickets. Can't imagine all the lost time with e-logs at these dairies.Good luck with 2000 miles a week @ .32 cpm.
Oakley is now paying .51 cpm.out of lake wales. -
Lets see...Washington to La.1,073 miles.waste a day to load and 3 day delivery time at Drop in La. day to unload.Go to Tulare area 160 miles day to wash out and load. Go to Kelowna Bc.1,200 miles...55 mph is 4 days drive time, with loading and unloading and driving there is 7 + days shot (in good weather not snow and ice) at .32 cpm $778 less $171. ins less $175 in taxes. $3.23 for Transflo..not to mention $50 a week if you damage equip.Oh ya you'll need chains $250dep.Wow good pay???
They can't afford to pay more because of all the damage the newbie's are doing? That new Mercedes (the most expensive one made) the owner drives. His poor sister has a hard time making up her mind each morning Grey Escalade or the Black one no maybe I'll drive the Caddy CTS.the son does well with the sporty 2 seater caddy. -
Check out their website....
elogs are gonna put a cramp in a lot of peoples program.. -
Big Mike; The ones with the elogs are the lucky ones. They have been installing the Black Box in all the trucks for weeks now, that means DOT can plug in and see what that truck has run at anytime,so if the drivers log somehow dosent match he's screwed!!!
groundpounder Thanks this. -
I just posted winter havens # the other day, I talked to a west coast driver in atlanta he said their still settin stuff up in turlock. So maybe that's why you can't get through
-
It's probably a good thing the # is not set up. Who could afford to run those 55mph states and bring home less than $500 a week less what you spend on food... > $100 a week. -
Hello river.rat. In reply to your post, you hit it on the head, except for the pay. My friend said all the "west coast" Turlock based drivers are at .35, BUT if you do even just one run from, say, Tulare to N.Y., your not at .35, your at .32 But yes, it generaly takes me, with my company, between 6 and 7 days to do a I-5 turn. Too much time sitting. And about them EOBR's, holy ####, there's no way you would make any money at .32 and drive it by the book. Try this link. Either copy/paste or maybe it will just allow you to click on it.---> http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/Data/carrier.aspx?enc=qWU/TSNJCxorZrv7UX/1WzEOuXy1NkVdFtkO6vopIf8= Not sure if this will work, if not I can try it a different way. But it's the latest information on IRT safty rating/score. It explains why they are being forced to put in EOBR's. When your score is that bad, they will make you put them in, and if you make it, then good, but I don't see how IRT can stay afloat with them EOBR's in the trucks, and the current way they run their business. And it's not just IRT. There's hundreds of companies that would struggle with EOBR's. It's comming, but the industry needs to change to make it work.
