NOT GOOD AT ALL. BEEN HERE 3 WEEKS AND GIVING MY NOTICE TODAY. THEY DONT PAY: DETENTION, WAITING FOR LOAD, LAYOVER, TOLLS OR SCALES. I SIT ALL DAY IDLING, WAITING FOR LDS. I BEEN EMPTY SINCE 0700 AND ITS NOW 1500 AND IM IN L.A WITH NO LOAD AND DISP WONT ANSWER MY EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS. DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF COMING TO WORK FOR JONES EXPRESS. YOU'LL LOSE YOUR ###.

 

Many years ago, I was one of their original agents in New Castle, Pa. in those days they called themselves Jones Motor Steel Division. Obviously we hauled steel in & out of plants from Joliet I’ll. To Baltimore & Chicago all the way south. I also ran a few of my one trucks out of my terminal. All my o/os’ were union drivers out of Local 261. They were all good men & drivers & except for the usual jealousies we ran a straight up operation. All the old rules still apply! If you write clearly, complete all your paperwork, run legal and are on time...you get paid. What folks don’t realize is that they MUST pay you when your load docs, logs & compliance is up to date. A 100% owner operator is never in business to screw their drivers. They need GOOD drivers & work to keep them! They, like all companies, also work to get rid of problem drivers who don’t perform. If I sound like a manager, I am! 50 years an o/o. 15 years an agent. 12 years a regional mgr. Now, at 72, I’m about to lease to Jones...IF they’re not lying about their rates...if they pay as promised (and I’ll know when I get a look at how their paper mill is structured) & if I’m sure they can fill my lane with the freight they say they can. Everything else is a waste of time! Talk’s cheap, money buys good whiskey!!!
