So you're suggesting someone be responsible or something?

    :biggrin_25523:

I agree with others - the road contact area is ok and the air is staying on the inside. Keep the speed down and reschedule the delivery if I had to. Maybe even slide the trailer tandems forward if the load permits.

That's what I'd say if my son sent me that picture on my truck. If he twisted my arm a little, I might tell him to have the t/s mount one of the spares for <$50. Maybe.

PS: One of my spares is a $200, lightly used, used recap souvenir from a total $320 road service on a drive tire blowout. In that case the air wouldn't stay inside and I had no spares yet, so I had to call the Man With The Tire Truck and pay him his price for whatever he had.

PPS: $30 more than that roadside call is the out the door price of a new, brand-name, matching replacement from the local tire guy. t/s price is a little higher depending on whether they'll haggle or not, or even have the tire I want in stock.

OK, for the record, last night drove 100 miles on flat drive that started to come apart. Made you tire look primo. Saved about $200 on road service call not to mention got a soon to be nice spare compared to the limited choice available from road service.

I made it over there with the tire. I drove easy on it and I only drove at night so that a Bear wouldn't see it.

The only reason I drove on that tire was to get it to St. Louis to park the truck. I found a company over the weekend that sells their trucks to the driver with no interest on the financing. I'm now an owner op and I can still say that I'd rather change the tire than risk any other damage or a fine from the DOT.

I wouldn't have needed road service. I was parked at the shipper and they had a shop there for their own trucks. They said they would sell me the tire at cost and not charge me for putting it on (which I thought was an awesome deal) but the company would not go for it.

Well, now you can do whatever you want. I take it that you got into a lease purchase?

Sort of but not really. They are selling me the truck at the price they wanted for it and taking $1000 a month (250 per week) out of my settlements to pay for the truck, taking out the insurance costs, and fuel. There is no interest to pay and no hidden payments. I operate under their authority and haul their loads and get 86% of the gross on the load.

What about a maintenance account? Most of these require a certain amount of your settlements to go into a maintenance account.
