seems like all night FOS arent liked, im not too crazy about mine either, i have some old grouch. I usually call in at 6am jus for them to say we will call u back, and the night FOS will call me at 345 or 4 and tell me b in jus for outbound work, then at 7 he will say ok now u might b goin on linehaul, ive had to cancell on this girl ive been hanging with multiple times cuz of last minute linehaul, although shes rele cool and understands, i didnt wanna lose her tho(which i havent and now is gettin better, might even ask her officially out this week)
I dont mind if they tell me at noon that u may be needed for overnight cuz then i can at least either get some sleep or do wut i gotta do. They even asked me if i had a second job to work at but with these crazy hours i cant even schedule it, and i might even be losing my truck as well due to no money. And one day i worked durin the day with my friends dad and when i told them i cant make it to outbound or linehaul they flipped out and told me i better b there for outbound. Ive been sick this week too and havent been in, and all week they keep harassin me wen im gonna b back, im not in a rush to work 15 hours a week
Dont believe that killing overtime thing lol its all BS. we have guys working 10-13 hour days every day, the management complains about it but keeps doin it and it hurts people like us

Wow working two days in a row, how's it by u?

Whats up ACH, its going pretty good so far. Knock on wood. Ive got 35+hrs these last two weeks....hopefully it continues..Worked last Sat for sitting out a day the week prior.. They seem to like me, as I just come in and do whatever they ask, as long as its safe. Theyve been running me silly with a 45 and 53 in the city. I actually like driving the 45/53 combo better than the pup. But I'm liking it so far. The atmosphere here is pretty good too. Most of the guys are willing to lend a hand if you get in a jam, or get sent to an unfamiliar place...lots more to say, so Ill probably post a thread
Hows it going with that girl? did you ask her out. Hope you got caught up on your payments bro, being on flex sucks bad. But if you can stick it out man or move to another terminal or something..Let mek now whats up -
35+ hours?! i havent seen that since i finished training. Ive signed up for saturday work a few times but never get called for it, the outbound supervisor normally always reminds me of it when the sign up sheet is available. I agree with the 45/53 footer, ive never driven our 45 but have with the 48 nd 53. It is a lot nicer, jus with the pup its so much easier to manuever. Im guessing im liked too, i do wut u do, go in, do what im told, do it right etc. Thats y i guess they havent fired me yet for no shows or ignoring the phone wen they want me to come in for 2-3 hours to help with outbound lol, i can work my other job and make my money.
A lot of guys at my terminal r rele cool too. Any unfamilar places ive had to go to they have no problems giving directions or helping out if its a tricky dock. normally the inbound supervisor will let u no of a tricky area and who to ask(he does that so everyone keeps getting along) I went to two place last monday, and both guys i asked told me exactly how to get there and where to go in it. I would do the same if someone ever asked me since i always appreciated it
lil rocky road with the girl, but still looking good, still behind on payments, had to buy new tires since mine r bald. this week i did get to work 3 days but after that there was no more work for me and only got 24 hours in. i wouldnt care if i only had 4 days a week, cuz i can pick up a shift at my other job but this only outbound work i cant do, and will not answer the phone for it lol, but i wouldnt recommend my actions to n e one, i only do it cuz i do have two other places thatll take me back in a heartbeat lol
good for u tho man if they r giving u work. do u normally get an old beater like i do lol, my truck was 478-7198, a 97 Ford, it finally broke down on me last week, we have 4 trucks like that, i hate them lol -
lol we're in the city dude all the city tractors for the most part are beat up.. Low power and the A/C is broken. The untouchables(accident free guys) here get the nice tractors with a/c. Well i'm at the bottom so I guess Ill pay my dues..Gets hot but I just say eff it im making 19+/hr Ill grin an bear it. dealt with worse in Afghanistan.
The low clearance bridges in the city are the absolute worst, and my ### puckers everytime I drive under one..it sucks.
And i get assigned a different beater everyday. I've been in like 5 different ones so far.
I also worked this past Saturday too, which wasnt too bad. I'm hoping it picks up for you or someone quits. Flex sucks soo bad. Hope everything works out with the girl and you get caught up on the payments brother. The uncertainty of not getting enough hours blows, but I'd do this anyday over the OTR crap. -
yea OTR sux, thats y i never decided to do it, although some people swear by it. Yea i get a 14yr old pos ford everyday, same no A/C and always smoking from the engine. the older guys have put their time in so they deserve the A/C, but if i ask to switch trucks if ones available wen i do a second load i always get NO. Greenwich CT is a pain too, all bridges r like 9-10 ft tall, i didnt even no that was legal
This week im gettin a lot of hours in, worked monday, tues and today, i took off wednesday cuz i worked my other job tuesday night. They told me make sure i have a second job since they cant guarantee me work so if they say something i got stuff to back me up on. Still pretty much fed up there, but if they keep giving me work ill keep my mouth shut. But only reason i am getting work is cuz 3 guys r out on vaca and they r doing the safestack training all week, so we will c how next week turns out. still a rocky road with the girl and payments but i believe itll get better
