In reply to spyware in the trucks

never though i would see or hear a day like this!!
i have a very good friend that drives for gti. i feel sorry for him now!!
I have a little brother that is one of the computer geeks over at Intel
you got Intel inside??

OK to the point spent some time on a quick download from one of these new trucks and the way they are setup
that quallcom unit is a piece of work multi video input ports as well as audio
worst of all not advertised but blue tooth activated!! yes it is dint jive the company your cell number how do you think the feds can tap into your cell phone??? air waves!!
camera in the windshield wooo it tells them if you pop open the hood of the truck or you dint cant take pics or videos!!
in a term this quallcom is hard wired right into the truck ecm unit
now what my friend the geek has found out is that the main ecm has to have a key to make any major changes sort of like a big pass word some how they got this key no doubt through there freightliner dealer they own
why am i saying this? my friend said that they can make any change to that truck while you are driving it or they can make your check engine light come on or give you fault codes! i wounder how many warranty jobs been done this way?
why? you can say home land security or what ever they want to call it but it boils down to control over that truck and to see if that driver might blow his or her top!
the unit is programed to listin for key words like a search engine does how do you get 14 million pages for a phrase ' hope for life'??
same way this unit is setup say kill, bomb you know what word they listen for once that trips that trigger oops one of them words! then the unit starts recording then zips that file up and sends it as a data berst back to the company!
i smell a bigger rat here! my friend said he never seen a setup like this but i told him how long this company has been working at it quallcom all he could say is it figures!
there is alot more that this unit will do all the open ports and all the system is running on widows operating system so think about it
if i got your pass word to your computer and it was connected to the internet
what could i do or steal from your pc???????????
what this is like geeky said it is a person telling a computer to tell anther computer what to do and when they have full control from there keyboard they do not have to plug a computer into the truck port!!!
we thought that there would be no harm in seeing what this system was capable of but the very next day gti fired my brother but the thing is we just copied the data and we made no changes!!!!
the way the currant govenment is i dont even think you could even get this any way near a court to fight it
no i do not drive a truck but i do try to help my brother he is not into the computer stuff but still dont give out your cell number and call your provider
and have your id blocked and your number block so no one can see your identity or your number and if they got your number have your phone's id hedden and change your number

Well first off like I said above this is a piece of work this qualcomm unit!
I have read s\the post here and can’t believe that some here just do not get it or can’t understand
What is going on!!!
First off this unit is nothing more than a computer! Running off Microsoft Windows operating system
The head unit you look at is nothing more than a touch screen monitor! You all following me so far?
That monitor you use and look at is a distraction!! In a word, your nightmare is the computer part back under your bunk!! The brain child!!
How many of you have a laptop in your truck or a computer at home? And just what can you do with that computer??
This people are way ahead of all you truck drivers!!! You spend your time driving they spend there time thinking this crap up all day every day!! You are out gunned out classed and sold out!!!!!!
First off yes in the windows operating system a Bluetooth communication software has been installed!
And guess who installed it?? Yes qualcomm best part is the user config file in this file is the drivers name
And all his or her info, address ect. But it is the phone number of that driver that is embedded in the communication software and com port!! So yes they can and do listen to your phone conversation!!
So in that face I do not think they listen to everyone most likely a new driver for a while or a driver that has some problems or problems with the company or someone that is angry!! So how do they know who to listen in on? I would say your dispatcher ore whoever you talk to when you’re mad or what ever
Again they do use a word search to pick out key words to trigger a record session or more likely a safety manager or fleet manager can set this up!!
In all true sense this truck is hard wired this truck tells them everything you do or do not do!!
This system has 2 active video input ports one is the Iteris lane departure system is connected to one port. And a active input device on the other port were that video device is?? Can’t tell you don’t have a truck to tear apart to find out where it is!!

What about the rest of the system?? I think most of you realize what this system can do
It tells the office your speed and fuel mileage your driving habits your faults!!
That camera in the front passenger side windshield take a rolling fifteen minute video and yes they can watch you drive down the road if they wish too!!!

How much more?? My little brother like me we have our own lives and if were not for my best friend
And the trucking problems he has gone through we would not have done this download of this unit
But I cannot see how they can get away with bugging your phone this way!!!
Think I would call your service provider and have your number changed and see if you can have your
Id and number blocked from being seen and being able to be tagged!!!

Sorry i do not drive a truck but my best friend does and yes from time to time i have come to this site thinking that i might find a company that is better then the rest that my brother can go to work for. as to what i have found out here? the world is changing i can see what my little brother is helping to make at Intel and if you do not think this crap will not find its way into the trucking industry then you are all fools! and cowards! but what can you do??
that is up to all of you! if do do nothing how much farther will they push??
