I wish that guy would have kept his theories to himself. Now I'm all paranoid. When the bluetooth is attached to my ear, can they read my thoughts? Wait til Jesse the body hears about this.

Some of that has been around since the mid 80's. Qualcom since the early 90's.

Can you download them into a flat file?

Since I'm wasting both my degree in computer science and my CDL by sitting here burning Buddha and replying to these silly messages, I thought maybe I could decode the new Q-com format and hang out behind the truck stops, selling a little device that can tweak it.

The police are already watching my house, looking for an excuse to lock me up in the looney bin, so I'm not particularly worried about it. Mowing my lawn in a nightgown and bare feet this morning didn't get their attention, so they're probably doing donuts and coffee and smoking K2...all of those things that cops do.

There's even one that controls the A/C system and the door locks. What if it decided to shut off your life support and lock you in your truck until you die? Your dispatcher can do that to you if you talk back to him, so be polite and deferential no matter how much crap he gives you.

I wonder how many times he looked under his bunk?

Now if a safety guy isn't dealing with violations, wrecks, logbooks, permits and orientations, he has plenty of time to monitor 400 drivers.

He needs to start worrying about the camera's and microphones in his house and personal vehicle.

DUDE!! Ronin! I have some aluminum foil to send this guy! I think he's in need of a new hat!

Don't forget the ECM also collects everything done prior to the wreck! You know such mundane things like braking, turn signals, head lights on and high back to low beam, throttle (speed) jake brake on/off, windshield wipers. That's just the ECM on the engine! Those pesky ECMs have been doing that since the late 80's! That is not a surprise to us older drivers. Heck if it goes through the ECM it gets recorded! It's those hard braking reports that are a PITA for drivers! They are useless unless they have a picture to show that not all hard brakes are because of tailgating as I had to inform a wannabe Safety Director years ago! Some people do NOT need to be in the office jobs they lied on the resume to get!

OK, OP, so the QC is going to do more! It still is not going to "listen in" to your cell phone transmission or connect via Bluetooth. I do believe that's against the law as we are seeing with that news agency in the news!
It might just might be able to tell when your cell is talking but most of us do know that to connect" to a cell or a Bluetooth we have to open the tools menu and select and authorize any hooking up.

Next, you'll come in and tell us it's hacking into our computers and using the camera and is taking our pictures as we talk to the stripper chat line, or stealing the cookies so they can tell if we're watching porn or E-Span or The Gay Pride channel or kiddie porn. OK the Kiddie porn they can out the guy on but really get a life! Any half arsed firewall should be able to block a QC out!

Do you really think most of these cheap arsed BFIs are going to pay at least a couple of nerds to sit for hours a day going through all this crap you say they are downloading from out cells and computers? Highly doubtful! Besides they do NOT want to be the hanging end of a major lawsuit which will cost them more money that they do not want to part with and that's ONLY the lawyer fees! NOT the pay out on the judgment!

Until the trucks drive themselves, I'm pretty confident that QC spying will be a while getting on line then whats the difference? The truck will be driving it's self. A human will only be needed to fix things not drive so whats the reason to be "spying" on a seat warmer who probably doesn't know how to drive as when this happens driving will be a long lost art like a rotary dial phone!

Show us the links needed to read the specs and instructions to this spying QC unit! I have plenty of time to go over the specs! If you can't do that then walk in to the shop, sneak the shop manual out and scan all the relevant information and post it back here! Remember a picture is worth a thousand words!
