Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
2 obvious problems that I can see...
Crushed cars
CH Robinson -
Haul crushed cars and age your flatbed overnight...it's messy oily crap
that ruins decks...not to mention the "Streakin Beacon" $$ spendy wash you will need when your done...
-JUST SAY NO TO CRUSHED CARS-
-
Add to those points that CH Robinson takes the profit out of the loads and then takes forever to pay and you have crap loads that aren't worth hauling.
NO THANKS! -
Kelowna to Tacoma is 342 miles. -
The engines are removed from these cars and if you're worried about your deck you can simply place 2x4's down for protection( something Hanadarko and Black cleary havent thought of). This ##### has to move and just because you two are too good to do it doesn't mean it isnt good paying work. I don't apperciate you flaming my thread.
-
No one is flaming you.
Exactly what type of response were you expecting?
Roses and lollipops?

Due to MANY past issues with CHR and the fact that hauling crushed cars is really just CRAP work - we are simply stating the truth.
Hauling crushed cars just ruins trailers...and carriers could care less...and CHR takes FOREVER to pay you....
Many drivers don't realize this until their trailers look like crap....So it's good to warn people of the 'hidden' issues with choosing to haul this crap.
Hey! - Let's not forget the places you go into to get this crap. Gee....how do those truck/trailer tires look after visiting there
a few times...?
I'm sure someone out there would be more than happy to pull this junk.
-Just not sure this is the proper place to ask, unless you can take the heat.

My shipper & receiver run a tight ship. They are directly responsible for any damaged equipment during loading/unloading. Need to get this stuff hauled, bottom line.

Rukshaw:
So that is $3.80 a loaded mile?
When are settlements?
Is this a contract or a handshake?
How many loads are there available at this time?
What is projected deadline to finish available loads?
This looks like a 14hr travel plus loading time (say 3hrs each end) so 20hrs for a turnaround.
Is this a 24/7 operation or are there hours for loading and unloading? Weekends?
Are you going to hire 100 different trucks for 100 loads (1 load each) and then hold off settlement 90 days. And then say "Oh I am still working on those other loads, call me next week." ?
Oh, wait! Kelowna, BC Canada!!!? That might be a problem.....
