I know none of you have ever worked for somebody like this.
Have you ever had to run a mile per gallon trip ?? This dude has taken this to an art
form, you'r only given enough fule to get from pick up to delivery, here's the reasoning
behinde this, we do'nt trust driver's they'll take side trips or sell their fule.WTF?
How about this, insted of calling out road service to fix a tire, why do'nt we send you
30 mile's down the road to a tire shop with 1 blown tire 1 half flat tire and 43.800 lbs of
freight, fix the tire then come back to unload, here's the kicker I was only 3 mile's from the reciever. WTF?
The last truck I drove for this genius, this thing was a rolling violation, we need to get this #### fixed before I get poped,
Enstien did'nt think that was a good idea, you'r almost home you can unload tomorrow, then come to the yard.
Not quite the answer I was expecting, I'm 400 mile's, out I got IL,IN and MI, 4 scales and who know's about
any roadside inspection's that may pop up, I knew what could be instore, if I was popped, an out of service order, junk equiptment.
Ok, I went along with knowing this could be trouble, but the idea of being able to spend a couple of days at the house was to strong.
After unloading I called in expecting to go to yard, well were going to send you to North platte, NE. WTF?
This brain thought it would be a better idea to do this, than to fix it in his own shop?
Figure that out, I believe he was intentionaly keeping me away from the house,
after 15 days out I was due for time off, I told him to get f**ked.
His reply was either go load it or bring it to the yard and clean out the truck,
well let's see, I'll be there in 2.5 hour's, I do'nt think that was the answer he wanted.

here's something newbies should read. trucking companies haven't changed the way they do business. the csa score card is another tool they can use to ruin a drivers career. weather you are a company driver or an o/o. you get stuck with mechanical violations for safe operation for the next 3 years. and it only takes a couple service write ups on the dot road side inspection report. to get you put out of driving for 3 years or more. and all you have to do is be behind the wheel when the truck gets pulled for inspection. in one road side inspection. you can get 100 pts. and there's nothing you can do to get it off the csa. and beating the ticket in court. means nothing to your csa score. the csa score is based on road side inspection reports from the d.o.t officers. this guy here did the right thing by quiting a guy that doesn't care about safety until his truck is shut down at the scale due the mechanical violation found during the inspection. if chevy2 would have stayed. he would have been stuck with the bad inspection and the shut down order on his csa score card and his psp record for 3 years. and could of most likely be out of a trucking job for the next 3 years. and would have to start over in the industry again.

Just curious.......Who might we be talking about?

I was just pointing out. how companies haven't changed any bad habits. and they are going to use the csa records to screw over the driver by d.o.t. inspections. just another tool that will be used to torment drivers. I don't see the csa program going to far before it is thrown out with claims of economical tampering. and will be considered as a major cause of another recession if not a depression. that is going to end up leaving a few million people deemed unemployable. and other job markets will follow that think that if your not fit for the trucking industry. then your not fit for ours. same thing happened in the great immigrant period of the early 20th century. other country were killing immigrants. because they were turned away by America due to health reasons.

Some employers treat their drivers like pets and children. That's because they believe their employees ARE pets and children.
Someone with insecurity issues that deep with a need to control people causes his own problems. Trouble is, someone else will always get blamed when things go wrong. What a way to drive!
Man, I hope you can get away from him someday, you'll never know pride in a job well done while the boss has you in diapers like that. No insult intended but it's a humiliating experience to work for anyone that's scared to give you responsibility. -
No reputable company wants you to get violations. It seems to me a lot of the bigger companies are actually coming around when it comes to equipment. Like Swift for example and Prime, Ill bet most of their trucks will pass an inspection. And this is why it so important to do 2 or 3 VIRs a day, takes only minutes and can payoff bigtime.
As for working for anyone that would insist you run an inspection disaster, well just walk away and look for another company.
If you want to do OTR and make money, you must change your mindset and be willing to stay out 4-12 weeks at a time. I stay out 12-16 weeks at a time, so Im always rolling a minimum of 3000 miles per week. You get into a groove if you have a good dispatcher and equipment and a good work ethic. Some are natural born drivers and some just see it as a way to get by.venne Thanks this. -
Simple solution to this problem... Don't drive for these co's that pull this garbage.
I can't stand people who whine about crap like this then in turn go and drive for bad co's like this. No one can make you drive for these people.venne Thanks this. -
I apologize for lack of intelligence, I got caught up in the moment.
The company I was speaking of is, Exhibition services inc. Bay city, MI.
6907 w. side saginaw rd / M84 exit. OK, with that rectified, I sure there's
alot of people out there who have made the same mistakes as I have, not all of us are college educated geniuses who drive truck for a living.
What I hate is people who think they know it all, most people do'nt
reserch companies, we take them at face value, and unfortunatly most
of them take an advantage of that, at leasted I will admit my mistakes,
I've been in this game all my life, grew up in a independant operator
family, the reason I went to work for these people is, because it was
near the house, in this part of the country loacal jobs are scarce, I'm a single parent with 3 boy's and a 70 year old mother to look out for.
This is the only time I've ever posted a company in the bad list, I've
worked for many bad companies in the past, but this was the worst I've
ever had the misspleasure of working with. -
well chevy! if they don't report to dac. and you haven't got an inspection. and it sounds like you haven't worked for the guy too long. Then i wouldn't show working for the guy on a job application. I would show it as being unemployed if possible. and I wish you the best of luck in finding another job. I'm pretty much in the same boat that is sinking.
For those who want to know. Nooooooooo!!!!!!! there no jobs in florida. any job that is here. has well over a thousand applications per job opening. most people here end up working odd job for next to no money. or taking very low level part time jobs as many as they can get usually. or taking jobs in other parts of the country and moving out of florida. how I have been making it here. i spend close to 6 1/2 days a week either working on cars, lawn mowers, atvs,or motor cycles. I also do under brush clearing, field mowing with a farm tractor, and when none of that is going. I spend most nites looking for short moves around part of the state. I use my pick up and a small box trailer. and when I get the chance. I stop off on the trucking forms sites to give every one a hard time. I use to work for celadon. and yes... like anyone! I got tired of being crapped on all the time. so I gave them back there pile of junk they call a truck. and left before they pushed me into telling them where stick there junk truck. so much like chevy here i came home to a depression. and florida is in a bad depression. and if you want to move here. thinking you can get a local job in paradise. guess again! you'll end up going back over the road with so mega fleet living in florida. -
But no state tax?
