With a response like that, you're going to make a claim about "intelligent" conversation? Seriously? Well, since I'm sitting for the moment, I'm going to go ahead and point out a couple more flaws in your argument here.
Who said anything of the sort? Both of us who replied to you stated in no uncertain terms that we respected your decision not to carry. See, this is where your claim of intelligent conversation begins to lose credibility.
If someone seeks to inflict harm against someone who did nothing to provoke them, can you give ANY valid reason whatsoever why the person targeted shouldn't be able to respond adequately in their own defense?
The rest of your post isn't even worth bothering with.
Any real answer about gun carry?

Dont carry into CA. They dont honor other states CCW and you weapon itself may be illegal here. Take a guin into CA at your own risk. You may be staying here for a few years, behind bars. -
California Penal Code section 12025 does not prevent a citizen of the United States over 18 years of age who is not lawfully prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, from transporting by motor vehicle any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container.
The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code Section 12026.1.
OPEN Handgun Transport: You can transport a handgun unloaded if it is on the passenger seat next to a driver in a car, clearly visible, is 'open transport'. While legal, open transport is uncommon. Because this is uncommon, when transporting openly any interaction with law enforcement personnel could be uncomfortable.
Any person over the age of 18 who is not prohibited from possessing firearms, and if otherwise
lawful, may keep and carry a firearm or have a firearm loaded at his or her place of residence,
temporary residence, campsite, or on private property owned or lawfully possessed by the person.
(Penal Code §§ 12026, 12031(h) and (l).) Any person engaged in any lawful business (including
nonprofit organizations) or any officer, employee, or agent authorized for lawful purposes connected
with the business may possess a loaded firearm within the place of business if that person is
over 18 years of age and not otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms. (Penal Code §§ 12026,
12031(h).) -

I bet most people in prison for gun crimes never went through the proper channels and didn't own or carry their guns legally. They also used them in an illegal manner, or they wouldn't be in prison.
Ever notice that the places with the strictest gun control have the highest crime rates?knuckledragger Thanks this. -
Right, CT doesn't do the reciprocity thing.

He was not carrrying it, but they found it in the truck glove box in a search.
Makes you wonder how it could be carried in the truck in the first place in that state then. -
This is what is required to transport through CT. I don't run there so I don't have to worry. This article brings up the bigger question, what did he do to warrant a search of his vehicle?
Sec. 29-38d. Interstate Transportation of Firearms Through State.
